I've used clones and basically bag seed for 20 years, just got into autoflower recently. Ill still do photo, but the money is in auto it seems..
Humans and monkeys are over 95% genetically similar.I just don't see how a plant that is over 95% genetically identical to a photoperiod strain wouldn't be pretty much indistinguishable. I bet people couldn't tell if you were to give them a blind test. Hell a bunch of strains people grow are prob a couple percent off just from accidental crossing.
Wow 22% is higher than most high grade or at least equal. Plus the CBD in autos is an awesome quality. I wasn't aware of that until you mentioned it. Do any if you know where regular NONFeminized seeds of Afghan Kush Ryder or Think Different auto are sold? If not would breeding one fem of either to a male loweyder2 and then the f1 to another akr or td and then a male from that to a third akr or td (obv if pick only one akr OR td the entire time) would work? How would the genetic percentage be since they aren't backcrossing to clones but crossing to the same strain every time you get a new f1. Like when would you be comfortable crossing the f1 with each other to make f2-7 for a stable strain almost identical to afghan kush Ryder or think different. One thing people don't really mention is that autoflowers are usually high in CBD thanks to ruderalis genetics. This can actually give a very nice high and more medicinal benefit. You really can't generalize all strains imo. Afghan kush ryder is 22% THC and like 1.5% CBD... Everyone who tries it says it is almost narcotic.
I've smoked a bunch of different autoflowering plants, including the latest and "greatest". They don't compare and I doubt they ever will. You have more control with regs as you can determine when you want to flower. Far more control with regs. There's literally no advantage indoors. They're good space fillers in your veg room if you have room.
You can grow regs in small spaces too. Yeah, switching a light cycle, that shit is very difficult and a huge hassle. Give me a break. And you cannot get more harvests per year either. Regs finish faster once mature."literally no advantage indoors"
Advantages Indoor for Autos.
You can flower it with a single light cycle.
Good for growing in small spaces.
You can get more harvests per year given the same space..
In other words you have nothing and are conceding the point. The only control you have is when you plant the seed. You have far more control with regular plants."you have more control with regs as you can determine when you want to flower."
You can control when autos flowering.. it is called planting when you want them to flower.
I said the best regs actually. And it's not even close. If you're a casual smoker, autos probably suit you just fine. If you smoke a half oz+ a day. They're probably going to be a little weak for you."dont compare (to regs potency)"
22% THC on some autos... higher than lots of regs.
Which I already conceded. I never said they were utterly useless. Just that people who grow them indoors instead of regs are doing it for no good reason at all and getting lower quality product at a higher cost.the real advantage to autos is growing outside for short growing seasons and to avoid getting ripped by LEO. why grow a reg if it won't even finish?
Have you grown any autos yet? It seems like you went from asking about them in different threads to talking about all their advantages. And btw,you can harvest several ounces weekly with photos too.Now it's getting ridiculous. Autos are perfect for indoors when you want to harvest up to several ounces weekly depending on how much room you have.
Plus if avg people can make a gram last a whole day high the whole time, smoking 14+grams means you have a problem. That's when it is classified as a psychological addiction There is absolutely no need to smoke that much. That's 2 WEEKS for an avg person who starts in the morning and stays high all day.
No, I am still learning, and therefore am learning about their advantages. To say that they have no advantage anywhere indoor or out is ridiculous. They are mnuch easier to grow when you dont have to worry about lights which require you to have multiple lights and grow areas/tents to keep clones in veg while some flower for a perpetual harvest whereas autos can even be tossed in with regs apparently for a small continuous harves twhile you wait on specific regs, but personally from what Ive read, it seems like another one of those Clones from Clones cause degenertation myths. If you get backcross enough you could pretty much keep a strain the same and just pass on the auto gene. It seems like people here know a lot but tend to also stick with stuff they heard once or have little scientific evidence for. A strain that is auto with 22% thc means it is as high if not higher than the White Widows people sell that are "up to 20%". To say its less potent at that point is just stubborn. Also, to harvest several ounces weekly with regs youd need 2 setups for 1, and 2 youd be limited to strains that can finish flowering within 2 months from seed, or based on most autos, 3-5 weeks from the start of flowering which seems to be too early for most regs from what ive been reading.Have you grown any autos yet? It seems like you went from asking about them in different threads to talking about all their advantages. And btw,you can harvest several ounces weekly with photos too.
OUNCES? You haven't seen the ''harvest a pound every three week'' thread? (so it's 1/3 pound a week)Have you grown any autos yet? It seems like you went from asking about them in different threads to talking about all their advantages. And btw,you can harvest several ounces weekly with photos too.
