LMAO i know bro i really really thought hard about what lighting setup todo, and i really thought LED's were going to stay slightly cooler i will admit that, but they are working great and yes i know it isnt all about the brightness of ones light. LMAO i know im just starting to think how the hell am i gna do this... haha but shit we'll c.You will be fine bro. Don't let some HID snob hear you talking like that or it is all downhill from there because you admitted that they work for growing a plant.... I think those blackstars will be more than enough, gotta remember that when it comes to horticulture lighting unlike stage lighting or something of that nature the intensity is not just measured by how bright it looks to us... Our eyes have the hardest time seeing red and blue on the far end of the spectrums, so they do not look quite as bright to us because the retina in our eye can not process the light as well as spectrums in the middle of visible light.
Those cfl's will help fill out the stuff below your light canopy as it starts to fill in with buds so do not misconstrue what I am saying to mean do not use side light, just be careful who you say it too lol, otherwise you will hear how you're a moron for buying glorified xmas lights and no one likes to be called stupid..
yah shit c thats what i was wondering is basically is it worth the extra $$$ to buy the lights, and for electricity, for the out come? yah know? yah i think thats whats happening here, but to be hoenst i dont really know how to do that one, It looks like theres a net over the top of the canopy? how does that work? lolThought about picking up some 2700k cfl's myself but then I just made the call to cut all the lower stuff off instead and try for some big old colas. Methodology I use now is anything below the canopy doesn't end up that great anyways so you wanna try to get a real sea of green look going with nothing really below that first layer of growth. Though about lollipopping them before you make the switch to flower?
ok well then by nature my girls ( the two big ones ) did sea of green on there own! the big one looks exactly as you speak and all the areas are almost flush. It looks as if all the nugs are to come out there? im guessing by other pics and how mine look lol.Sea of green just means you got a lot of bud at canopy so it just looks like a sea... screening is what you are talking about and it does take a lil know how, I do not like it cuz you can not move your plants and I am a freak about moving them around, just bought lil plant caddies at the hydro shop so they roll around now lol . Lollipopping is where you cut the very bottom growth of the plant off, the level of this is up to you. Some people take it pretty far, I leave 3-4 nodes depending on how tight they are. Helps drive plant growth to the top buds for flowering instead making a bunch of lil popcorn nugs, some people argue this takes away from yield, I would argue it increases it when done right......
damn another 2 weeks? that would mean these bitches were vegn for 7-1/2 weeks :O they wont get hella huge? i just wanna make sure my lights can suffice!! n yah i will most likely ask you, but i think i know what to take off, just the mini mini small parts on the bottom of the plant that are attempting to grow ? yah ima need pics hahahaGive it a couple days, your plants will not hate you for the hair cut and you will notice a huge difference in the lower growth now so wait to lollipop, honestly I would say wait like 1.5 more weeks then flip to flower. .5 week for the top/transplant and then cut like 1-2 nodes of the lower stuff off if you are not comfortable, take pics close up of your plants before they go into operation so I can try to give you an idea of what to take. I grow feminized seeds and they are supposed to be super picky but only ever had 1 herm and I was asking for it...
If I remember correctly gsc is not the most stable of strains yet though so she does not quite freak out on you. This is all my personal opinion, never not given them a rest time so they may not even need it, I just take it slow and tread on the side of caution...
hokay dokay mayne, wat i'll do is another week or so n shut the lights on em!After the lollipopping you will notice your canopy will open up a lot so i would not even worry about the light amount.
Don't toss it man, you've got 5 weeks invested in it already, just ride it out.View attachment 2572705View attachment 2572706View attachment 2572707View attachment 2572708View attachment 2572709 Slightly over 6weeks of veg. im thinking of throwing the little one out.... its just wasted space in a way.......... idk whats going on with it.
lol that's what I was thinking We'll c how she does almost time to flip the lights!Don't toss it man, you've got 5 weeks invested in it already, just ride it out.
They all look happy.
I was thinking about that too.... after seeing the 2nd to smallest one was almost root bound (and I transplanted it) im guessing this one could be too? gonna do it tomorrow c how she does.Give her a transplant and watch her take off, for some reason transplants always give me boom of growth after they get used to their new containers.
How the hell are you on the west coast, I am on the East coast, and it's almost midnight here, but your post says you came in at 1:20A.M. tomorrow morning?I was thinking about that too.... after seeing the 2nd to smallest one was almost root bound (and I transplanted it) im guessing this one could be too? gonna do it tomorrow c how she does.
