Hell yea, wish I had a cuda. But that's kinda the point I was trying to make, these newer expensive cars that supposedly go faster and handle much better just aren't fun. If you took that 450 horses out of that mercedes and put in.. Well anything it would be a blast, not that the mercedes isn't, its very refined and all that crap. But that 450 horses in a 58 chevy truck or hell I twin turboed supra would be my choice.

But yea with 450 horses you can do doughnuts and race your friends. 700+ and your doingwheelies trying to keep it in a straight line and most likely breaking or tweaking.. Something wether its a driveshaft axle or engine mount. That's why we gotta work on our rae cars every race. Course I'm not running nitrous at the moment .. Its a lot to keep that much power under control, everything else on the car must also be upgradded.
I would love a chance to drive a zonda orcar that is made for that much ower to compare. Anyway I started rambling

Speaking of german electrical issues. I've owned 2 bmw's and will never again both developed horrible electrical problems

You have to get out from under the Piëch. BMW used to make good cars (haven't driven one lately, but have been turned off by Top Grar's commentary on the invasive electronics) and Benz still is the king of German roads. But my lust-heart belongs to Porsche. (And that puts me under the Piëch.) cn

It sounds to me you got lucky with your buys.

I wont do Audi because they make it impossible to put nice aftermarket wheels and tires without doing a ton of work on the suspension. Also, if you don't keep an eye on the auto transmission on an Audi, you can find yourself spending serious cash chasing down problems.

I've owned, Land Rover, Audi, VW, Chevy, Ford, Mercedes and Lexus. By far the most reliable for me has been the Mercedes and Ford. Chevy was a close second, and the jury is still out on the Lexus, as this is my first one. Audi came in a distant fourth, followed by Land Rover, then the pile of donkey shit VW calls a vehicle.

nah man almost anyone will tell you the germans know how to build a car better than anyone else. ive seen the electrical issues your talking about but vw, audi, porsche know how to build some serious cars. and the its not hard to put aftermarket wheels on those cars man. i put 2 or 3 sets on my audi while i had it and didnt have to do anything other than change it from wheel bolts to wheel studs and thats not even actually needed that was just something i felt would make it safer.

zonda and other super cars put the power down much more safely than something like a 700 hp cuda. the cuda chassis was designed for under 500hp as to where the zonda is built with 700+ already in it and has a much longer and wider wheel base. also way lower to the ground.

yeah trying to compare a unibody car like a cuda with how ever many hp to a full tube chasis full blown race car is like apples to oranges.. :D

Well I was referring to my mustang which has a boxed frame and is significantly stiffer, he mentioned he drove a cuda...but I see what your saying. I don't know I'm biased to new cars. Merc can shove all the crap in their cars they want, remove about 2,000lbs of unnecessary tech and you would have a decent car, I think the italians best demonstrate this.

cuda, mustang, same thing lol for the handling aspect and being streetable with high power is a lot different with todays cars compared to older cars like the cuda and mustang.

me and a buddy built a 1800hp engine for his c5 corvette and its pretty streetable if you have throttle control but imagine 1800hp in a stingray corvette. that thing would be like a bar of soap in the shower lol.

yeah, my first car was a 67 camaro with drum brakes all around.. it was an effin nightmare trying to bring it from a stop.. talk about pumping the peddle, jesus christ, my leg got sooo big driving that car, lol...
then the suspension on the older cars left alot to the imagination.. even a pos so honda today handles 100x's better then my old camaro ever did..

i dig the technology on the newer cars, which is why i'm such a fan of formula 1 and tend to hate on nascar for the most part..

Somehow the point I was trying to make got lost...hey nice refrence I have that engine in my car, My mustang will hit 60 faster than any supercar you can think of, hell it'll get to 200 before most hit 60. Anyone who's been to a drag race knows that.

I was trying to make a point that when you get behind the wheel of something that "refined" its just not fun.

By the way my fox body has full independent suspension etc,and really is nothing like an old muscle car. Big difference from 90's ad late 60's early 70's ... But yea I get your point

i will admit that older cars and newer cars are two very different animals, but to say that driving say a zonda or even a ferrari or what have you wouldn't be fun, well, i'll just have to disagree with that point.. :D

Lol ok maybe not fun was a bad choice of words, I would love to drive a ferrari. So what would you rather drive a lambo ferrari type or the zonda and the like

ehhh, tough call tbh.. too many super cars to narrow it down to just one imvho.. it's like trying to pick a favorite strain...

i'd really love to get behind the wheel of an f1 car on an open track though.. even if i killed myself, ohhh, what a way to go.. :D:D::D

edit, i'd probably have to chop off me legs to get into one, and not sure how much fun that really would be as i don't think they've ever had like a six foot four f1 driver before as most of them are munchins for the most part.
