From what I know, nutrients thru soil is best between 6.3-6.8. Coco or soiless medium is good between 5.5- 5.9.
Panic! Almost all the fan leaves on one of my plants have died and fallen off!

What I really don't understand is how two plants from the same strain that are treated the same could be growing so differently.

you need to keep giving it the nitrogen throughout flowering aswell..

seeds aren't clones. its the same reason why if you have a brother/sister they are not replicas of you. even you had 2 clones off the same plant and you exposed them to different scenario's / environment's they're genes can become expressed differently

I knew that but I thought it was suppose to be lower... thus the bloom nutes which are 3-12-6

the plant doesn't need anymore nitrogen in my opinion. I think its a good idea to keep using veg nutes the first week or so of 12/12 to allow for the stretch and then move to flowering nutes
There a nutrient called Veg+bloom by hydropinic research that has a npk value of 16-10-30. Seems like a lot of nitrogen but I have seen plants grown from JUST that nutrient grow thc covered plants.
Its what Im using for my og kush right now. Its good. Im Still in veg. A nutrient also called jacks blossum builder which is rated at 10-30-20 which is what everyone wants for flowering(ratio wise)

They are both looking fine today. Can't say the sick girl looks good, but i think there is a minor improvement in leaf perkiness.

first the bad news...you gave them too much nitrogen and now you have the "claw". it doesn't get better. it doesn't revert. you can't flush the extra n out of the plants. it affects trychome production. all that n has to break down. you can't smoke it. i had claw sometimes and i just seperated those and used them for making hash. and that's the good news. you'll still be able to get high off what you grew. the other sypmtoms i'd just be guessing at.

So you are saying there is zero hope for smokable bud from that plant? They are getting frosty already... I need more help in understanding why it wouldn't be smokable. I am not going to deal with making hash. If I can't smoke it I'll toss it.
I'd let them go if I was you. I've had the claw and taken it to finish. You might not get as much but the claw doesn't mean that you won't get nice smoke out of it.

no you will get smokable bud. but it takes longer to ripen near harvest. when i said you can't smoke it i was referring to the nitrogen. it's got to break down first. but with claw it takes longer. and longer to cure cuz of all that extra n. so it's not a lost cause. it's just a learning experience. between that and the other little problems your end product just won't be as good. but you can smoke it. absolutely. i was just impatient. i didn't wanna wait. i can sift dried buds, even with claw, through a nylon screen and seperate the trichomes from all the leaf matter. the hash was great. but if ya want buds the process takes a little longer. hope i'm being clear. i don't wanna overwhelm you. most growers get it at some point. it's not the end of your crop. if ya have more questions i'd be glad to help. pm me if ya want.

I am definitely willing to wait and cure to make it as good as it can be. I am generally not patient but I can wait for something good and get my bud elsewhere until the girls are ready.Ordered a handheld microscope today so I can start keeping an eye on the tricombs.
careful it doesnt mold in the jars/ container. Keep an eye on them and take them out if they are reallly wet.
ps: I also ordered a pocket microscope with a light and it works but I cant use it on the plant itself ....I heard a jewelers loupe is better because you can use it looking at the plant before you chop

Why can't you use it on the plant? The only jeweler's loops I could find that were affordable had 30x max magnification. Just didn't seem like enough.
