If they come for your guns, do you have a responsibility to fight?

Na, it's a M-249 or SAW. Squad automatic weapon. I think the 60 is gone now, maybe a few guard units have them. We had 240 bravo which is pretty much the same as 60, both shoot 7.62. That 249 is a .223
My father retired sgt. major, I am happy to see vets around. I was a military brat and got to play with alot of things most others wouldn't. Nothing big to you probably but I once got to shoot a toad howitzer, biggest weapon I have ever fired.

Ahhhh. I think I read this is more commonly used than the m 60 for suppresive fire now, because of reasons you stated.
Yep, suppression and cover fire is what full auto is for, the 5.56mm Round weighs substantially less than the m-60 round (7.62mm ) Troops can carry twice as many rounds for the same weight.

I'd have to sit on my porch and watch those that trusted enough to red light themselves as gun owners lose what they have. If this was the country that responsibility was created in yes fight. This however is not the case when government changes so do responsibilities. The problem is extremists and ignorance. I believe most people believe in all our rights a little and few believe in some too much. For those of you that believe it's your right to plan for protection from war I say your a poor planner. No we don't want your guns we want your military weapons
First sentence meaning - don't register weapons or when you need them they'll take them.2- We per our founding fathers are obligated to keep our govt. in check.3-The govt. has taken our rights changing the game.4/5 Most people don't care unless its happening to them then they get all high and mighty about the new law to control us.
6-The war at hand is the law machine by registering you've given the enemy your arms location.7-A way to get those who don't care to join in.

you got armies invading you on the regular or something?
I bet you would see guns differently if you grew up with them and used them for practical purposes. You have mentioned that you do not own a gun, have you ever shot a real gun? I just never seen a guy seem so genuinely uninterested in guns.

Saw this article on the Liberty Crier that posed this question. What do you think folks?
If they come for your guns? Come on! What does that even mean? Responsibility to fight? What horse crap is this?

I see Libertarian as the worst kind of foolish theory. It's the one that can't be tried at all, ever. No one is that stupid. It is the theory of not being able to think past ones own nose. ME ME!

Now, you didn't post the article, but what scenario is proposed. How exactly do the come for the guns and what does he say to do, as an individual? I'm quite sure the answers are not there.

If they come for your guns, it will be like this, unless you are in the USA. Australian being still a Crown Colony doesn't have a real, for the people, Constitution.

-----------------------
Unlike the voluntary buybacks in the United States, Australian gun buybacks of 1996 and 2003 were compulsory, compensated surrenders of newly-illegal firearms.
The 1996 Buyback took 600,000 newly illegal sporting firearms, including all semi-automatic rifles including .22 rim-fires, semi-automatic shotguns and pump-action shotguns. Because the Australian Constitution prevents the taking of property without just compensation the Federal Government decided to put a 1% levy on income tax for one year to finance the compensation. The buyback was predicted to cost A$500 million and had wide community support.[SUP][5]

[/SUP]The 2003 handgun buyback compensated the confiscation of about 50,000 newly illegal pistols, the majority being target arms of greater than 9mm caliber (generally used for IPSC competition), or smaller handguns with barrels less than 4" such as pocket pistols, which were mostly licensed for target use as since 1996 licenses cannot be issued for self-defense in Australia.
----------------------------------

So, exactly what is being suggested here? How, under this Constitution can they "come for our guns?" Not try, how to do?

So if the law is unconstitutional, you will still abide? I say if the law is unconstitutional it is not a law.
But, we aren't given enough information to know. And even if you are Certified Litigant before the Supreme Court, you still don't know, until the Court decides. And until then, all Laws are Constitutional.

there's a war at hand?

the government is the enemy? what is the grievance?
Well, I don't think so. And I think insurrection is another Red Herring about the 2nd A. We the people is Real. We have limited Powers of Arrest. Each individual is part of an army to protect the Constitution, if capable to form militia.

We will form quickly under the National Guard command, as irregular units. Up-trained and maybe issued basic equipment. That is the Law. IMO, Tom Jefferson was a bit of a fool, starry eyed to suggest another Revolution.

If it got to that it would be caused by our govt being under a foreign power. But, it won't be so easy. Very hard to see if we aren't already, etc.

Oh Australia. Bought back the guns with a surtax on everyone. Why? A Massacre. Hmmm. How? Their silly Constitution allowed it. (that's not all the stupid stuff that is allowed, but it is a different subject.)

So, how did they fare? 43% worse over all. Rape victims? Classic home invasion. 150% more than the US.
Some things seem to be better. Like teen murder with guns. But, teen violence is up.

Total crime victims
30.1% 21.1%
DEFINITION: People victimized by crime (as a % of the total population). Data refer to people victimized by one or more of 11 crimes recorded in the survey: robbery, burglary, attempted burglary, car theft, car vandalism, bicycle theft, sexual assault, theft from car, theft of personal property, assault and threats. Crime statistics are often better indicators of prevalence of law enforcement and willingness to report crime, than actual prevalence.

Ranked 1st. 43% more than United States Ranked 15th.

Thank you.

Very good article. Many of us take this granted or may not express it so clearly.

I, like the author, feel 20% may be high but also that an event like this, if it were to actually come down to this, would spur larger numbers to support the cause of liberty. Either way, the idea of liberty does not require a majority. The Sons of Liberty were a minority.

Lest we forget:

I hope all make note of this statement. If the Government every turns on the people you know who side Uncle Buck will be running to. Very telling. It must be nice to know that you have people out there that are willing to fight for your freedom and rights, while you would run cowering to the state and aiding them in taking away others rights. Does not surprise me.

lol. you think you and your buddies can take out the government. how cute.

in that hypothetical battle, i'm sipping a mai tai in some non-shithole while you die in vain.

similarly, it's good to know that idiots are happy to die en masse in a fight they can't win. rid the world of those retard genes.

i'll be in some tropical location, hearing about the retards with their AR15s who, not surprisingly, couldn't overpower the tanks and bombers.*

that's the good thing about the retard gene, it tends to thin itself out.

I agree 100% you cant fight the US forces and expect to win, if they come rolling down your street and you dont comply or offer resistance... technically they can just pull out that NDAA and whack you..simple....if it were to happen....and only will if we the people act out and cant show self control...civil unrest is the precursor to such a speculation....possible yes, likely not anytime soon...less the stupidity of most people overtakes logic....
