Number of plants for no card?

First off, I am a little confused. I have my medical card and I can grow what I am allotted, no problem there. But now my girl wants to grow her own - no card. Is there some conflict here? Obviously we live together, in case there is confusion. Can we put grows together or do they have to be kept separate? Is this one of those grey areas?

Any insight appreciated.

if you live in Colorado any adult in the house is allowed 6 plants so 2 non-medical adults in the same house could have 12 plants total in that house.

if you are NOT in Colorado then any plants your gf grows will be illegal and if in your grow area i'd have to think it'd be you who'd be in trouble for growing plants in excess of the limit.

...you and your medical limits should remain unchanged as i understand the law.

bozo

btw, maybe there would be a way to increase your limits and make her legal too by making her your 'official' caregiver.

lol, sorry, i seldom look to see which particular forum a post is in before i respond, ...so your gf would be allowed 6 plants total, 3 in veg and 3 in flower.

Speaking of "not looking", I read your post without looking at your username and thought you were calling the OP a bozo. How rude you are! ;-)

Now that's funny. I thought the same thing the other day when reading down a thread. I saw "bozo" and thought what a dick. Then I looked to the left.........

Lol I thought Bozo was calling the op a boza too. I would imagine youd be able to grow twelve plants total, and the plant count for you specifically wouldnt change. i.e. 6 for the card and 6 because yer an adult in good ol' CO

Why would you imagine that?
It doesn't work that way.

Trousers has a good point. It would be wise to assume you get the greater of the two limits, not the sum of them.

Im saying OP would be allowed six because of his med card and his girlfriend would get six since they live in Colorado, 6+6=12. Im not saying that the OP could have twelve of his own plants. Just because he has a red card, I dont think that would take the rights of his girlfriend to have her six plants away.

You have to maintain 2 seperate grow areas

thats 6 per household... not person... you cant have 10 people over 21 living in a house growin 60 plants in one area... legally anyway :)

A64 allows adults 21 and older to purchase up to one ounce of marijuana from specialty marijuana dispensaries and grow up to six marijuana plants in their home
this is for non carded people... medical grows are seperate as the laws are different for medical

Okay... Thanks all for replying. I understand the intent of the law is a little confusing as it makes sense the grow areas must be seperate.... It also makes sense that the limit is per household to prevent abuse... I guess i gotta take the high road and actually sit down and go over the law, lol :)

*Opinion*

I do not think you would have to have separate grow areas as long as the one area is in compliance with both laws.
Check me if I am wrong, but medical grows do not need to be locked, 64 grows do.

If you lock your med grow, you should be in compliance with 64.

Since the passing of 64 my plant count doubled. (6 for me, 6 for my wife).

I will only have 4 mature flowering plants now (veg room is now a fem seed crop room)

But I want to be in compliance with 64. I put a $2 lock on the door. as far as I can tell I am in compliance.

I would check with a lawyer instead of a bunch of stoners on the interweb.

I bet you could call a police station and ask them. That actually sounds like fun.
"Hey officer, yeah, I have a question about growing marijuana. I have huge weed plants in my basement. I'm going to harvest them, cure them and smoke huge fatties. But I want to be in compliance with the law. You should try smoking weed, it is great..."

*Opinion of a stoner*

I agree with Trouser. I didnt read anywhere that said that the plant count was limited to six plants per household, the law specifically says adult. I heard that 64 also opened the door for co op grows, since not everyone can grow in their own house. Im not positive on that, but that would def not be six plants per household.

And even if the grows had to be seperate, couldnt the op just stop being a mmj patient? Maybe get rid of the card, and just grow under 64 then?

The grows don't have to be separate under 20 or 64. But if you want to be fully compliant, it would be a good idea to look up how your local municipality has already regulated 20 grows because I'm sure they'll enforce the same or similar regulations on 64 grows.

Thanks everyone. I have read 64 and feel that they are a little unclear in the wording but feel that yes, we can grow her 6 plants as part of the same grow. We will be keeping them marked just to be on the safe side. Reason this is important is because her and I have talked and we are considering building our dream house - now the plans will change from original design to a house with an atrium built in :) Haha, this should get interesting.... Thanks again for the replies!
