I have another plant exactly the same and it is fine no problems at all. This one I used new hydroton and I cleaned it, but I didn't soak it in acid water for the night. This batch of 'ton was not ph neutral, my res ph was going up up up in the first few days, but I always kept it under control with ph down. This stopped about 5 days ago and ph has been very stable only going up .4 per day

also, it was about 29c degrees in my tent, so I put in some more fans and now it's down to 25-26, but this would have affected the other one as well...

I flushed out the bucket and foliar feeded, but it's still getting worse, I don't know what to do anymore. it's still growing on par with the other one, but it's the spots

I use filtered tap water that's about 80ppm

I have pretty much the same setup using House and Garden Aqua Flakes w/tap. I usually am at around 300 at that stage. Hows your ppm? I wouldn't try to "dial" your ph in that much, just let it ride out. I usually sit around 6.2 since I know ill be bumping up the ppm's soon anyways. Your 250 mh should be perfect, ive been cooking my clones under a 600 mh with no problem at all..

I have a feeling its hard to know if it's lack of nutes, or just nute lockout because of the ph-high hydrotron from last week

Yeah I usually have the same problem with new hydroton, the ph fluctuates a lot. Might want to bump it up a then, once those roots drop that baby is ready to explode with growth. Hows your airflow and humidity? Roots have dropped right?

I use 6 inch pots, roots just started poking out yesterday, you think now that ph is stable that the plant will stop getting worse?

airflow is good, humidity 30-40%

Yeah for little seedlings I try to keep airflow down a bit, and humidity a little higher to avoid drying them out. The new growth looks fine, I think it will start taking off. Guess you have been using magic green foliar feed?

nah i use some weak stregth aqua a+b with some GO Bio-Weed and a thing called vita max plus

edit- new growth looks fine but the brown spots are getting worse and worse every day

I'd probable just clip off those two lower nodes that look dead and bump up the ppm a hair since you said your <300? It should be fine.

Pictures would help ALLOT. If they are still seedlings at this point.. like less than 4" high, you have probably fucked with it so much that it will not recover but that said.. it still might.

Seedlings are VERY VERY FRAGILE. Like uber fragile. I learned the hard way to never mess with my seedlings until there are at least 3-4 sets of leaves. And Never touch them without gloves on.

You need to raise your humidity any way you can.. blow air on a wet towel to increase the humidity. the low humidity is causing them to transpire and they don't have enough roots to support that transpiration rate. Also, I think 300 PPM is a little high. I am typically somewhere just north of 100 for seedlings. Root growth will happen faster in lower concentrations.. and lower ph. like 5.5to 5.8.

I would start with fresh water and a flower formula (less Na nd more PK) until they start visually growing. then bump up to 300PPM using a veg formula.

oh yeah.. they don't need much if any cal mag at this point. Certainly not more than 3ml per gallon. (it also adds N)

There is no reason to be using nutrients of any kind at this size and age of those seedlings. I never use nutes before 3 full sets of leaves. Use water ph'd, and maybe clonex. I use clonex every few feedings. Also, transplanting them at this size isnt time either. They should be in a seedling tray until you have a few sets of leaves on them. Light that size is a bit much too. A lot of issues here.

Unfortunatly you'll have to ride this out. Get out the nutes, use new water, and hope.

I'm a house and garden user too, and its bs they say to start the program early, totally unnecessary.

Young plants need to be kept moist but not wet, like the dwc is, very wet all the time. They need to start to dry out repeadetly during the day to make them want to make new roots, too much water and they have no need to make roots yet. Plants make roots to look for water, and makes them bigger.

they are growing no problem, the other seedling is going great, no problems at all on the "grow" standpoint

If it was environmental, it would affect both of them right?

I'm still thinking the bad ph from the hydroton shocked the plant and it hasn't recovered from that, why else would the 2nd plant be perfect?

What is the duct tape, tinfoil and big ass rocks doing in there? Thought you had hydroton... Also looks dirty as hell you are setting upto fail before you even start.

Your responding to someone who hijacked his thread, his plants are a lot bigger then those seedlings. He removed the picture, they were about 3 nodes tall.
