now that i can make a PROPER poll, i'd like to to get some votes on everyone's preferences. me? i hate stoner bud and have since the very first time it didn't get me high. i was spoiled by a couple years worth of a steady supply of trippy imported columbian gold. NOTHING i've EVER bought since has even come close though i've finally grown some nice strains. i hate getting stoned SO MUCH that i'd rather smoke mexican brick than 100% organic outdoor grown "dank" every time.
so what are YOUR preferences? in case you've never even gotten high, let me remind you of the effects you DON'T get out of common everywhere cash cropping indica dominants that only slow you down and make you stupid with some hybrids offering at east euphoria. unless you live in SoCal, you should already be familiar with getting stoned.
getting high =
- being fully functional, to motivational, to flat out can't sit still on it as in kali mist. getting high is the OPPOSITE of being tired aka couchlocked.
- psychoactivity. sativas, especially purer ones, offer a wide range of sensory effects from actual trippy visuals, to making music sound "more real" and in general heighten your other senses. i've noticed a really cool "touchy feely" effect from 2 strains that were all about getting high and columbian gold used to give a light floaty feeling like you're always walking downhill or even that your legs are helium balloons... again, the opposite of couchlock. a nice psychoactive high can also make junk foods taste orgasmic.
- euphoria... i STILL associate that as a sativa trait as i used to laugh my ass off on columbian. i've smoked some hybrids that have nice euphoria, but i still say they get it from their sativa genes as MOST afghani dominants don't have it that i've smoked. kali mist is the most euphoric AND racy strain ever. if someone knows of pure indicas that have euphoria, share the info. i've ONLY found euphoria in stony skunk #1, and that's 75% sativa (not enough for me)
there are some downsides to getting high though, especially with more potent sativas... they can make you twitchy and/or paranoid and if you overdo them, you can even get a really sucky room spinning dizzy nausea that isn't fun.
the bottom line is getting high is the opposite of turning your body into tired lead and turning your brain into mush. they're about enjoying life for me. getting stoned not only annoys me, it depresses me. i've never liked it and i never will. if others prefer that, that's fine. i can understand med users that need to calm their nerves ot get some sleep. my issues is that GROWERS and DEALERS universally refuse to ever grow strains that get you high as they just chase as much indica yield as they can get and actually ARGUE with customers, like me, who demand better.
those of us that would rather get high than stoned don't get heard. now's your chance to show what the TRUE demand for weed is. the last time i did this, the results were almost evenly split with a SLIGHT preference towards the getting high side of things. by the laws of supply and demand then, half the shit on the streets should get you high, but it doesn't, unless your zip code is 90210 maybe,
