thanks trek, there doing well the cfl`s, i insulated the shed same time as had house done, you know the cavity wall insulation, pumped in stuff...

no thermo yet, but its always pleasant in there, never too hot and last night wasn`t a bit cold in there, and i noticed the lights for the little heat there putting out are heating the concrete and that acts as a rad for awhile at night, now my floor is just mass concrete so i`ll loose alot of heat there, but so far so good...

how do you find the heater, like you have to leave it on all night or will a few hours do the job?

hows the plants copeing? hope the cold isn`t slowing them down on you..

yeah its way better than last year in there, now its not fully tested yet, will have to wait for the cold for that... the real cold, and its comeing quickly...

would you beleive that we had to get the house done twice!!!!! first crowd were gangsters, drilled the holes but only filled the house to the windows... after the snow we had i knew it wasn`t right as the house was still like an ice box, so when there was a crowd doing the house across the road i asked him to look at mine, explained what had happened as he seen the already drilled holes and stuck a boreascope in the cavity, so seen it with my own eyes on the screen how high it was filled too...

done now and proper so not to worry, would recommend it for the shed, they won`t have to go inside atall, just drill and fill from outside...

holy shit its cold here tonight, alot colder than i was expecting just hope the shed holds up now slightly worried...

now can we talk heat from hps, say a 400w or 600w would they be in or around the same temps? say your room is constructed of ply, would the heat from the reflector or bulb be enough to say dis-colour the wood if it had to go close to it from plant height...

or is most of the heat develpoded from the ballast?

also from what i`m reading if i toss in 2 400w in my square footage its over kill, a 600w would be best, what you think? i have 2ft deep by 4.5ft long narrow i know but thats what i got to work with...

same little heater as me...

not used them yet rory but can happen from testing the bulb from what i read, and it looks like that one could be glass burn, or from when they mated the bulb to the holder..

worked for carey glass and when tempering glass for like coffee tables it can get "burnt" , but we just used to send them through the temper again to remove it...

yeah just don`t want to burn the place down hahahahaha...

in such a tight space i was just worried about heat etc, i won`t have venting sorted for another week or two...
