Qrazy Train keeper at long last

These are clones from one Querkle-dom pheno mother that has proven her credentials. Just placed in the bloom enclosure 18 days ago, they're already getting thick with budsites after blooming barely more than a week. An unintended added bonus with growing this TGA strain is it's rather rare to come across at the host of disp around here. Hoping to get close to an elbow this go-'round.

Thanx. I sorta' lucked out with finding this prime pheno mamma out of my first order of just 10 QT beans thru the Tude. This shot shows part why why she's a keeper. Early, vigorous branch development near the top along with close internode spacing.

Here's my small perpetual grow in a nutshell. The converted stack stereo cabinet on the left is the clone unit with 8 QT clones that also mini-veg for 2-odd weeks to finish out the month window. Then the veg unit sits in the corner holding the next set of 8 QT clones for a month. Then around the corner sits the small twin CFL powered parent unit holding precious mamma. And to the right is the door to the 54 sq/in, 1000 watt HPS powered closet bloom enclosure. Cheap, simple and productive was the idea. In hindsight I'd make the clone unit large enuf to hold a dozen cuttings. Not all of 'em ever root as well as some others. 10 would work, but better to just go with an even dozen to get 8 vigorous keepers consistently to move on into veg every month.

Just took this minutes ago. They're gettin' fuzzy and stinky already. Time to flip on the ozone gens (two Big Blue Air Ball, 12V, size of a small softball, Hi and Low settings, $150 ea.).

Now that my first wife and I are back together again permanently we can finally realize plans of long ago. We're selling and heading across the Cascades to the Ephrata/Moses Lake area in a year or two. Like I already recieve, my wife was recently awarded SSDI after a long wait for a final determination due to a work related back injury, and soon will have her green card as well. We plan on going about 4X larger over there and providing high quality monthly deliveries to dispensaries in Tacoma and Seattle for a very modest donation fee. The region is a haven for retirees and the agro-economic base makes for a different sort of rural-paced, uncrowded and considerably less expensive culture. A.K.A: "More bang for your buck!" Our retirement dreams have been realized in ways we never would have expected on a serious level, doing what we always loved to do on a hobby level anyway, prolifically cultivate dynamite dank.

Just past week 3 and lookin' phat. Trichs have noticably come on heavily in the last few days. In fact I'm embarassed to admit, largely due to our usual connection drying up, because they're already begining to swell and the trics are so advanced for this stage we broke down yesterday and sampled a few of the more developed buds that were shading others anyway. Surprisingly good and nice tasting, after sampling a tiny amount carefully dried in the oven.? Really, I mean verrry carefully. I cut up the sticky little 'budskies', as my wife calls 'em, into very small pieces and keep oven temps around 150 or less for about 7-8 mins, monitored closely for perfection.

These are some shots of my veg, clone and mother units. Left-to-right: One of the 100 watt MH I flip on as plants warm up to the veg stage, plants in veg (Note the two on the left are bigger and denser from the Querkle-dom mamma keeper. The other two are from a Trainwreck pheno I dumped), healthy root development in veg unit, root development (@ 11 days) in clone unit, mamma (clone factory), and finally mamma's little but effective CFL powered home.

Update: Just 5 days to go and I've tapered way back on the mix strength to about 10-15%. I'll start drying 'em out by feeding them only once every day the next 3 days, and give one final pure water douse into the gravel at the main stems the following morning, and that's it. They dry out completely for the last day and a half or so. This helps them finish up well and dry better, also tweaking the taste a little xtra-sweeter.

The cut buds are samples from a side branch. The pics don't do 'em justice. Taken in natural daylight to pick up the deep purple hues on the underside of some of the tiny trich coated leaves. And in dark red and purple streaks on some of the brachs. Ought make for some classy looking bag appeal.

The deep purple is showing up much more on the buds now. Up till just a few days ago it seems, a trusted friend was insisting it was just the angle of the light playing on the trichs that was creating the illusion they had any purple in them whatsoever. Now he just shuts up and admires their stunning beauty- sitting there ripped off his azz on just 2
b-pulls.

They're soooo booteeful! Gotta' love the rich purple on green fan leaves effect in the first pic. They ran a few days longer than I expected. But, chop-chop, dry/cure, yum-yum!

im not big on subcools strains... ive smoked 3 phenos of querkle and they didnt amaze me at all... i found them kinda weak... i tried to germ 10 jack the ripper beans... of the 10 6 sprouted.. all were males....!!!!! since being in cali for the past few months now i was able to pick up from a disp. in orange county an 1/8 of vortex { a strain subcool considers one of his top strains} and i wasnt impressed... though it had a very nice citrusy smell.... the high was weakish and faded too fast... and was too sativa for my liking...

yo what up bro good stuff man, how long you veg and flower for? what was your yield?
Thank you. I set up everything for a monthly rotation. Clones root and sort of mini-veg for another 2-odd wks to finish out the month. Then the (8) rooted/2-wks vegged clones officially veg for the following month before entering the bloom enclosure. The QT lists as an 8 week strain, but actually takes about a week+/- more to get the best results. The way I handle the additional week in a tight running perpetual setup, where there's just room enough for the two alternating sets of (8) blooming plants monthly in the bloom area, is to switch to 12/12 the last week the plants are still in the veg unit. They've already had the early bonus of mini-vegging in the clone box for about 2 weeks to really let the roots/plants get off to a good head start.

There are a few out there who make such claims about Sub's gear, like the few who make similar statements about their particular experiences with any breeder/seedbank online. But the plain fact is you're in the minority. And those who claim Vortex is top notch in any book are not just Sub, but a host of feedback and ratings sources that have far more credibility and veteran stoner experience than you. Tried Vortex just once and you know all about it, eh? I've seen plenty of phenos over the years from otherwise dynamite genetics that turned out surprisingly bunk or weak even though the buds looked like the total killz. Stability is fikle and isn't something potentially inate or sustainable with cannabis to begin with. This is exactly why in Botany circles, cannabis is known as one of the most adaptable plants in nature, due to it's tendency to express a relatively broad range of traits in the seeds produced. Long b4 anyone ever heard of a seedbank. Ever consider that the batch of Vortex you picked up an 1/8th from came from a grower who picked it too early? It lists as a 7 wk strain, but is actually more like 9 from what I hear. Like some who've surfaced of late, you just got this blind jealousy/hate thing for Sub.

i dont hate sub.. me and him are both moderaters on this site... his strain in my experiance are weak.... vortex def. not top notch.. a top notch strain would be like a pre 98 bubba, king louie og ect..... its not that im hating on sub at all.. its just that your gripping his nutts too hard...
