Sometimes They even get to me for a moment

I will admit that there is brief moments where I am so angry with Republican's or Democrats that I will think, "Oh I am going to vote for that guy so this other guy doesn't win I hate them so much"..We all have our moments of weakness, even the radicals and revolutionaries, even we are emotionally driven enough at time to give up our strongest convictions in brief instances, but only for a second. I can only imagine what it is like for those without these convictions. Freud would be proud of this world today. A world that the public opinion is swayed so easily in his eyes for the good of us all, his nephews dreams realized. Only if they knew how they corrupted democracy, Only if that had read 1984.

Like MLK I will stand on the Moral High Ground, and you should as well because they are not morally justified like we are. They are not ethical people, They are not even People at all....

If he had run as an Independant I would have taken it seriously.

Running as a GOP candidate to me showed he's full of shit. You can't be a major player in the system that you wail against and still be "the outsider.". He's no different from the rest if the pack

You mean a newsletter that wasn't written by RP called it Hate Whitey day.

Please note that RP voted in favor of a national holiday honoring MLK.

That's all you got. Nothing.

Actually you are wrong Ron Paul voted against making MLK a holiday http://www.govtrack.us/congress/votes/96-1979/h578

I think you might be confusing his yes vote to his vote on the date change for MLK day http://www.govtrack.us/congress/votes/96-1979/h624

Facts are awesome. You should try using them

Yah Ron Paul doesn't like voting for Federal Laws.

Anyways I'm looking forward to see where our movement goes from here. Ron Paul will always be a philosophical leader to the movement but he wasn't the best politician. I don't know if there will be another politician that our movement will be excited about, but I don't see the liberty movement going away either.

Dude is that the easy answer. " Ron Paul does not like voting for Fed laws"...

I see he had no problem voting for the date change...that was a Fed law

He endorsed that hate speech though. His name is on the letterhead. The famed Libertarian passion for personal responsibility should apply here, no? cn

Believe what you want I'm done having the racist argument. All I know is that the philosophy that he pushes is anything but racist....

Quite 100% positive that he DID NOT endorse those words, pretty sure I can find video of him denouncing such. Its funny you know, 20+ years of Ron Paul being in the public domain, yet not a single sound bite of him ever saying anything like what some of those newsletters said. You would think in all those years SOMEBODY would have caught him in the act of actually being a racist, but no one ever has.

Its not like Robert Byrd or anything.

Paul, a Republican obstetrician from Surfside, said Wednesday he opposes racism and that his written commentaries about blacks came in the context of ""current events and statistical reports of the time."

Paul said allegations about his writings amounted to name-calling by the Democrats and that his opponents should focus instead on how to shrink government spending and reform welfare.

http://www.chron.com/CDA/archives/archive.mpl/1996_1343749/campaign-96-u-s-house-newsletter-excerpts-offer-am.html

When criticism of the newsletters was leveled against Paul during his 1996 congressional election, he did not deny writing the newsletters, but instead defended them and said that the material had been taken out of context.[SUP][166][/SUP][SUP][168][/SUP][SUP][167]

not quite sure why this was made into a Ron Paul thread, I wrote this about corporations, public relations, about democrats and republicans..

It does make sense that Ron Paul would be connected with this, since he did fight against them.

Because half the people on these forums aren't intelligent enough to respond to the topic, they would rather argue in circles and just repeat themselves over and over....

I thought it was a good topic initially. Like most threads here lately it seemed to have great potential and then it got infected. MLK is one of my favorite speakers and I can only wonder if racism was a motive for changing the subject. :-P
