Guide to Getting Rid of Root Rot

Aquashield and Voodoo juice work wonders for my buckets. I stop using voodoo when they hit flower, and continue in with the Aquashield (cheap enough). Love it and always pearly white no matter the temps (68-75).

Aquashield and voodoo juice are essentially the same thing. (bacillus) The only distinction is the price.

Does the 35% h202 from the hydro store help with slime? i have been using the brown bottled h202 from the store for the past few weeks (only recently found that it was bad.) I know that it wont work with the bene's listed but will it get rid of the slime?
ty for any info.

Yes you and others say this, but I have ran them individually and together, got noticeably better results with both then minus either one from the equation. I am one to go on what works for me other then what people shout on a soapbox.

I don't mind paying for both, if they work as well together.

Oh you also forgot that AN puts the cool pee yellow color additive that super enhances the bud structure formation molecules! Making it well worth it!! LOL.

If you insist on going the sterile route, you'll have the best luck with bleach or physan 20. Strong h202 does very little to combat slime.

im in the process of reading up on teas. Thank you for this post by the way. For now im going to stick with the h202 because i have a gallon of it and this is a work in progress still(first grow). Any tips on the teas for beginners?

The only real tip is to follow the instructions and stay the course. Beginners tend to worry too much about foam or the particular type of smell (good tea can smell like anything from earth to moss to mushrooms, doesn't matter which) or they go way overboard with ingredients. As long as it doesn't smell foul and has plenty of aeration, it will be good. Some people also tend to be too sensitive about the slime returning. Most people who have tried sterilizers are used to the slime apearing to be gone at first, and then coming back with a vengeance, so they expect it to happen with the tea. As long as you see new shoots starting everything is fine, even if nearby roots still appear slimy. Damaged roots are like damaged foliage, they rarely spring back to life.

I keep 35% h202 around my garden even though I use microbes in my buckets. It's still good for sterilizing equipment, washing walls and tables, and pre-sterilizing water. I also keep a bottle of physan 20 to use in my carpet cleaner between batches.

hey heisenberg, do you know if goGnats will kill the beneficals in the tea. its cedar oil. i found a couple fungus gnats around my mother plant thats in soil next to my veg res, so i added an maintence dose to the res.
thanks for your help

Gognats is not compatible with microbes and does not kill many gnats, it just repels them. Try mosquito dunks, which contain a specific bacillus strain that targets gnat larvae and makes them deathly ill. You can add drunks to a tea brew or just soak them in distilled water and drench the soil. Consider adding a layer of sand to the top soil. Combine this with sticky yellow traps and remove all potential breeding grounds in other areas of the house. (cat boxes, drains, trash, old food, ect)

good luck

ive been slime free for weeks now and the day after i put gognats in the res its back. as i recall the slime showed up right after i used it before. i even called bonitcare and talk to a rep before i used it the first time because i was using aquashield. he told me it was fine to use both together. so i ether got the slime from the gognats or it cleared the field for the slime. hey bonticare :finger:. well thanks to heisenberg i had a gallon of tea in the fridge ready to fight slime. heisenbergs the grow guru

How are you guys using Aquashield? I just picked some up, running 2 gallon DWC buckets filled with about 1.5 gallons of water. My plan is 4 tsp in each bucket every 7 days.
