Do you think this topping will hurt my yield?

This topping was actually the result of a LST gone bad, snapped the main stalk took the top/biggest cola sight right off, what do you think now?plant.jpg
 
If it's still the veg season with more than a few weeks to recover, it may even increase your yield and give you a few extra dominant growth tips. If she's near the flowering season or just started flowering, chances are it will hurt your yield quite a lot.

But from that picture, you can't see the damage or where it broke clearly so it might be worth getting in to the affected area with the camera. And that red line doesn't really help :) an 'after' shot might be useful if you want some better answers. But from how high up it is you may loose a bit of yield unless there are some substantial side shoots below the topped part, and she has plenty of time to recover.
 
just pre-flowers hasent kicked into flowering yet, i have about 2 weeks until that starts. They have not really grown much in the last couple weeks to be honest, i feel like they have reached there maturity levels.
 
i was lsting and the the main stalk snapped bro, and no offense carkann but i don't really trust your opinion
 
ugh...yes..i was attempting this and tied the plant down too much and the stress from the bending caused the main stalk to snap, therefor i was left with a beheaded bitch of a plant...why are you not understanding me:fire:
 
well seems kinda odd to lst so late but what my friend did when was tie a string to a brick and pull it over gently, made a much bigger yield.
 
if you did lose any, I believe you still have time to get half of it back in new growth. but the good thing is.....youll never know if you lost or gained!:weed: but you experianced some lst pain with your plant and learned from it!
 
Bang on lol, either way it's an outdoor plant and looking bloody huge so either way it's going to be a big yield so :/ it's not much of a loss!
 
well the journey is not over yet, still a heap load of problems i can run into, and to be honest i haven't smoked in month's and i don't even care anymore. an oz of weed would be chill.
 
I should maybe start a new thread but actually i'm dealing with the same question : I'm growing a Martian mean green which had 8 colas and it was just about to preflower.
I cut off the lower 2 colas and I topped the rest 6. Did I made wrong?
 
lol, dude, who cares, these plants just grow and grow, its a weed, you may of you may not of, you will never know like the above poster said. Lets just kick back drink a beer and relax. Your still gonna get plenty of bud, and your learning, cheers.
 
It really wasn't too late. You just have to go very slow with larger plants. I think it's great that you tried. Just start earlier and go slower next time (but you've probably figured that out).

Horizontal cuts inhibit growth. You might just consider recutting at a 45 degree angle.

You won't lose your yield, it might even increase it...When you top you are pretty much splitting the main branch into 2 branches...so in 2 or 3 weeks that plant will have 2 main stalks to take in light and make buds...
It's fine...don't let ninnies tell you you have ruined everything...because that just isn't the case...
I mean the buds will grow in all the same once flowering starts...

Not true...I just squish or pinch or tear the tops off of my plants...the degree of cut has nothing to do with anything...
Anytime you take the topmost growth off of a plant it grows in double to make up for what went missing...
I mean it is kind of like a little lowly plant out in the woods and a deer comes by and chews the top off...well that plant doesn't miss a beat, it just grows out 2 tops...and if that deer comes back and eats both of those 2 then the plant will make 4 to replace them and so on and so forth...I feel that deer do not chew at a specific angle...
the reason people say to make a 45 degree cut is for cloning...and it is just so you have more surface area on the clone that is open...but even that is unnecessary then...I can cut at 0 degrees, or 12 and my clones and plants will still what they do...
