is led worth it?

Hey everyone, Im thinking about getting an led light, for a small closet grow. Im thinking about either the 5 spectrum 90w ufo light, or the 7 spectrum 120w led. How many plants could I grow under both of these, also, what type of growth could I expect with either of them?
thanks

Well... I would like to disagree ill have to post a pic of my led grow.. but on the other hand.. I did go out and get 1000w hps just to try to put it over the top.. Which Im glad I did. even though I have yet to see the full results.. I see them already just with adding it in 1/4 the way threw flower on a clone of the last.. its only been a week too

most people doing leds do smaller grows...

they just dont cut it guys unless you match watt/ watt and go with a proper led like lumigrow...

Yea for a large grow I would say HID all day, but if it's a micro/small grow in a small space an HID may put out too much heat. I doubt you could grow more than 1 plant with the 120w alone though. I read the PG-180(160 actual watts) is only good for 2-3 plants so put that in perspective. If you've got the space and the know how to deal with the heat an HID puts out it will be well worth it. If you don't feel like making ducts and vents or don't want to do any type of construction I would lean towards LED.

even if i only get an ounce dry from each plant, il still be happy, as itl be good quality, so ive heard. i dont want to go down the hid route, for electricity, and also the heat given off, the cfls are a decent idea, yet use quite a bit of electricity i found. im looking at the paraska 120w led, its the new 7 band one, got some good reviews

From what I read LED is pretty much still in its infantile develpment. Most common issue is stretchiness and low yield at end. But the obvious benefits are attractive low wattage used and lower heat signature. Could be possibly something to watch for in the future once it evolves.

What have you been reading? An edition of High Times from 2009?? I'm about done of my latest grow and I expect to yield 5 or 6oz dry from 1 plant under a 140w LED. But never you mind, you carry on wasting electricity!

YES it is worth it if you buy the right light. You don't need 5 or 7 spectrum! Just look at some of the grows going on in this section.. I'll be doing a journal real soon and i hope i can show to the non believers that LED can produce top results using half the energy of MH/HPS and half the nutrients normally used. Peas & Mud X
