Data is cherry-picked? Oh, I'm sorry I took information that was relevant to our bigger gov't. If you remember our country has been fighting tooth and nail each incremental growth in Federal gov't power (The Feds fought the Democrats, the Old Republicans the Democrat-Republicans and so on), add to that including any late 1700s/early 1800s income tax (if there was one) would be odd since the ability of the gov't to actually collect could easily be called into question. But, the real reason is that most of the graphs I found on median income tax (not just top-bracket which is ACTUALLY skewed) started in mid-1970s.How come the graph starts at 1940? What was the income tax rate in the 1800's? the late 1700's? Data is cherry picked.
