Is a Tweet good enough for an apology?

If you hurt an elderly couple in their 70's by giving out their address as belonging to someone else who is in the media eye and has a bounty on their head and that tweet causes them to have to move out of their home. Is another tweet saying you were sorry enough of an apology?

Spike sent out a tweeter apology and as if these people use Twitter. He did not call them directly to apologize.I do hope he calls them and offers an apology and covers their costs for his huge mistake.

I wonder do you think it would work with your spouse?

He didn't give a shit about those people and refused to apologize at first! Now since he realizes people are mad at him since he fucked up, he finally apologizes when he should have done that in the first place!!!!!!!

Is it a real apology to the party that was injuried? I don't think so, I'd hate to think that this would suffice as a complete apology.

It's crazy that our citizens are worried about a celebrity apologizing to an elderly couple when there is so much corruption and bullshit going on all over the world

Of course not! Apologizing on twitter won't do anything! I bet the old couple don't even have a computer! But yeah, he could have easily called them.

EDIT: Apologizing on twitter will do something, I forgot, it will let the public know he is sorry, but not the old couple. Which is what matters to him, sadly.

but first world problems are just like puppy love...first world problems are serious in first world countries just as puppy love is serious to the "puppies"

To tell the truth I don't have twitter, and see no point...I need not broadcast every thought I have ever had...I don't give a shit about what you are doing right now, just like I know you don't care what I am doing.

...here's another take on that craziness. Spilling flour on a Kardashian gets a girl arrested. Innocent people have been killed by the establishment - and no arrests. Don't get me wrong, I believe we need a system, but...

It's almost as though nothing is surprising anymore.

To the point, no, it is not enough to tweet an apology. For the record, I hate writing the word 'tweet' in a sentence.

lol @ "spilling flour". bitch got flour bombed and it was hilarious. the "flourer" should be punished because that's a bit fucked up, but it's better than the pig's blood the peta freaks used to hurl at people. if the kardashian wants to be a real cunt about it she can claim respiratory issues from the flour and sue. it's not like anyone can possibly think any less of her.

about the spike lee "apology", i don't personally think a tweet is good enough after what he caused, but i suppose the argument can be made that if twitter is a powerful enough medium to cause such problems then it ought to be powerful enough to spread an apology. but he didn't "wrong" his twitter followers, he wronged an elderly couple, and it is THEY he needs to apologize to directly, not indirectly via some internet site. i'd like to see him be a man and look them in the eye, but even a phone call would be better than a tweet.

that elderly couple was never in danger, people should know to verify all information they get on twitter first. it's just common sense.

whether or not they were actually in danger is beside the point imo. the panic was real. some might even go so far as to say it qualifies as terrorism. whether or not the people reading the tweet are savvy of the ways of the internet, or whether they realize that celebrities are not infallible sources of news is also beside the point. the burden of verification is on the messenger.

too bad it wasn't Zimmerman's.......the New Black Panthers and Spike Lee could go to prison. he could do a documentary.
its not Spike's fault; he thought Zimmerman was white................
