very nice looking man!she will be a strong one, beautiful looking stem she has there. I remember mine when was your plant's age  she was skinny and I didn't have any hopes for her. So if mine survived all what wrong I've done for her...then yours will be ok. Let me see if I have a picture View attachment 2054804 she was desperate for good light, I was feeding her with a halogen lamp, a huge one that was giving lots of heat and she got burned a bit but thanks to prof Lime and all the good people on this forum, I moved it under CFLs and now...I'm doing some hash :bigjoint:
We'll keep in touch, all the best

Wow that's one lanky plant! Good thing you moved her mate :)
I remember when I first used halogens in one of may failed attempts, it burned all my canopy.....lesson learned as well ^^

I can't wait to make my own PC Hash......might not be more than 2 grams.....no matter, I'm prolly going to smoke it all in one sitting :D

Alright guys, had a few things running at the same time so couldn't post more updates....progress has been slow the last few days but I can finally say that she has fully recovered from my carelessness.

I got some work done on the cabinet, just drilled some holes really.....but that took waaay longer than I thought it would take and wasn't as straightforward and easy as I was hoping :P

DSC00461.JPG

I decided today that it was time to transplant, first I check the roots...

DSC00463.JPG

Woha.....perfect!

Let's put this baby into this:

DSC00462.JPG

It used to be 11 inches high...naturally that would be too tall for my 1 by 1 by 2 feet space box, I would be vertically challenged in there, so I sawed some of it off and got it down to 7.5 inches tall....I tried fitting it into the cab and realized it was still a bit tall, so I sawed it down to 6 inches only ^^ It is a foot in diameter so it's a perfect fit in my cab now ^^

DSC00464.JPGDSC00465.JPGDSC00467.JPG

I watered with some ph 6.5 quarter strength 25-12-50 Nutrient solution.....let's see how she responds to the transplant and first feeding tomorrow...

More work to do still on the cab.......so bear with me.

Happy growing and thanks for stopping by ^^

That's an airpot bro, it's supposedly designed in a way to let oxygen get to the roots and hence achieve better overall plant growth ^^

Well, the box could fit the pot in just perfectly.....but couldn't put any tray under the pot, since that has to be slightly larger in diameter than the pot itself.....

I found the only solution was to tie the bottom of a black plastic refuse bag around the base of the pot ^^

Mounting the cabinet door.......HARDEST thing I have ever done!

Encountered some issues I needed to find ways to work around, If you recall earlier I built the door from the front ends of the 3 drawers that used to be there.....I didn't manage to attach them 100% flush, thought that wasn't gona be an issue...Until the day I decided to mount the door with hinges......

That thing was skewed and uneven no matter how I tried attaching it....tried 3 different kind of hinges.... different points of mounting... lots of hit and miss...In the end I think I got it right, well almost ^^

DSC00470.JPGDSC00471.JPG

Now all I need to do is mount some Fans, the lights, and we're all set to hit that switch to 12/12! :D

She seems to be handling the transplant and the the first watering with 1/4 strength Advanced Hydroponics of Holland: Grow, pretty darn well!!!

See for yourselves:

DSC00472.JPGDSC00473.JPG

What do you think?
Should I top her? or is it better to FIM? I'm gonna be switching her to 12/12 as soon as the Fans are mounted, so just a few more days of vegging.

Also here is a pic of the Fertilizers I'm using:

DSC00474.JPG

These are Hydro nutes, but can also be used at 1/2 strength in soil (so does the label claim)

Thank you for reading and happy growing! :weed:

I'd pin her down to get that side growth goin, then just keep pining the side growth horizontally to create a flat wide canopy. This is good way to best utilize your lighting.

Your box is pretty bad ass to man! With creative cooling I bet you could fit a 150 watt hps in there which could easily triple your yield!

Wow, she is growing fast!
I was surprised this afternoon when i opened the cabinet as soon as the lights kicked in...

DSC00475.JPGDSC00476.JPGDSC00477.JPG

I'm thinking if it hadn't been for the accident with the light falling on her earlier, she could have easily been twice the size she is today... I think I stumbled on Good Genetics from Barney's PC, very vigorous plant and definitely a fast grower :weed:

Thanks Internode, that's what I'm going to do, starting Monday I'm going to start bending her over and flattening the canopy like you said, then later attach a screen over the pot and start training her under it ^^

So all I have left to do on the box is install the fans and mount the big lights in.....

Question: Shall I hang the lights on a chain so I can lower / raise them when needed? Or should I attach the lights at the highest point possible in the box and use books / wood blocks to raise the pot to the lights, then remove blocks as the plant grow?

Thanks for watching :)

I'd say use chains.... I got chains and it makes it easyyyy to lower and raise!

Keep up the Good Work!

On my stealth cab i used a shelf from on the drawer then put blocks or whatever under the four corners and one under the middle, the set the shelf ontop of it, Worked much better than when my pots were sitting on upside down solo cups, knocked em over more than once :(

but if you can go the chains way i would recommend it even though with the chains you migh lose an inch or two of space on the top but your going to scrog it anyways so its whatevers convenient i guess :weed:

nice looking plants by the way! still deciding between G13 PE or the Chunk too bongsmilie gonna sub and see how this turns out man goodluck!

Looking good Gunrunner, I know how much of a pain it is lowering your plants instead of raising the light, but space is space ..

happy growin

If it were me, I'd prop up the pot and lower it as it grows. Mounting chains could be a hassle unless you already have hooks to hang them on. Even then, you won't be able to raise your lights up as high as possible unless you remove the chains.

I see that you're using hydro nutes in your soil. Keep in mind that the ideal pH for growing in soil is way different from the optimum pH in hydro. Here's a handy chart that another RIU member posted elsewhere:

So you see that the sweet spot for soil is 6.5 pH, with an "acceptable" range from 6.3 to 6.8.

Don't worry too much when something goes wrong. It's hard to kill a weed. You know that from my current grow journal.

Hey, I think this Pineapple Chunk stuff is pretty fuckin good! Last night I tried just one hit off of one of my immature plant's buds and it got me really high. Really looking forward to harvest time. I'm starting to get some big colas near the top of the plant. You can see some closeups that I posted today in my grow journal.

The trickiest part about growing it from my experience is that it seems to need the nutrient level to be fairly low. I grow in hydro, so I don't know how this translates to soil, but my plant seems to like the ppm to be around 400. When I exceeded 500 by very much, she seemed to stop absorbing nutes. She has lots of leaf damage to prove it. Also, she seemed to suffer when the pH was too low for a long time, like around 5.5 (in hydro). When I keep it around 5.7 - 6.1, she's happier. (For soil, use the chart above, but try to keep it in the range at or above the sweet spot of 6.5 most of the time. But you might not need to obsess over this stuff since you're growing in dirt. In hydro, things go bad FAST when the res ingredients are slightly out of whack.)

Thanks MSSPHOEBE! Always nice seeing you around :)

Think I'm gona use chains after all, since that pot is heavy, true I might lose an inch from the mountings and all, But i'm going to lose it anyway since the soon to be made DIY carbon air filter will be taking up about 2 and a half inches anyway.

Thanks for stopping by mate, I was also wondering about the G13 PE, but ended up going the LSD route and got the PC for free ;)
Glad to have you on board :bigjoint:

Hey bro, gona mount the chains for now, since I have the vertical space for it....Later I might have to remove the chains ad nail down (or up?:P) my lights to the top of the box...we will see :)

You are right on the money about the nutes, the manufacturer is marketing those as usable in any kind of system (hydro, soil and coco). The sticker on the back of the bottle says to use half strength when doing in soil...Also they tell you to start mixing your nutrient solution at PH 5.8.....I'm sure they are assuming this for hydro. So like you recommended, I'm gona be mixing mine between 6.3 and 6.8 :)

I gave them a light feed a few days ago with 1/4 strength solution of the Grow part, which is 25 - 12 - 50 at PH 6.5, and the plant really took off after that ^^
Gonna give them only water next time and after that at the next watering give her one last shot of 1/4 str. Grow, plus Micro (45 - 00 - 10). From there on, I'm gona stop giving her Grow, since she will be starting to pre flower on 12/12, so only Bloom and Micro ( 00 - 50 - 35 and 45 - 00 - 10, respectively), or Bloombastic(00 - 20 - 21) instead of Bloom.

Thanks for the chart, that will come in handy ^^
