Chinese level 1. Never taken a non-credit course before. Pretty excited actually. Been a good 6 years since I was in a classroom last. Anybody else doing something similar?

Edit: post # 1111 bitches!

have earned my associates degree and now working on my bachelors, the one thing i will say is you really gotta focus and put your best effort in and college is a breeze. i started at a community college and just recently transfered to a university college. actually trying to get some homework done now!!!!

After high school I took night classes at this community college for 3 years and made the Dean's list every semester but had to withdraw due to the fact I was working from 7am til 6pm then taking classes from 630pm till 930pm. I got burned out and hated my life. I'm 27 now and still work crazy hours but wanted to further myself a bit again. Good luck with your schooling bro!

I went to a big 4 year college right out of highschool. I had a great time, but didn't pass any classes and had no idea what I was trying to do there except party. I went back to school last semester and was amazed how easy the classes seemed. I think going back to school a little bit later is a good idea. You'll take it a lot more seriously. at least I did. good luck!

Kudo's to you! If we're not learning something new then we're just stagnating. Self improvement is always a worthy endeavor.

Over the past 10 years or so I've grown to really enjoy live theater of all genres. Comedies, musicals, drama... I like them all. Been thinking about seeing if the University in town has something that might further my enjoyment of the performing arts.

So I had my first class last night. And it was awesome! It's cool because I can tell the teacher is enthusiastic about the subject, which is a rarity nowadays and really helps me want to be enthusiastic too. He's not a native speaker but he's been practicing for 20 years. He actually knows Chinese and Japanese. He taught English in China for 5 years. Which makes me wonder what the hell he's doing teaching at a community college! The first class was real basic stuff, alot of which I already knew but we did touch on characters alittle bit, which was interesting to say the least. Well I'm pumped and wanted to share. Hope alls well RIU.

i totally agree that people should wait on college. i went back at 21 and was really focused. i actually made it out in 4.5 years and that is with JC too. so glad i didn't go right after HS, i probably would have been a history major...finance was a much better choice.

i am actually thinking about law school now, but damn that is expensive. i was thinking MBA but that is pretty much useless now.

you're only 27?

I thought you were an older guy, like 40's or 50's.
