Santorum jolts GOP presidential race with 3-state sweep

Is the new flavor for the GOP a frothy mix of lube and fecal matter that is sometimes the byproduct of anal sex AKA Santorum.. Santorum wins Colorado, along with victories in Missouri and Minnesota bringing in to question as to who the hell does the GOP want to give the nod to run against Obama. Can't wait until March 6 ( Super Tuesday )...the run up until should be fun to watch

This has turned into Romneys nightmare. Of all his opponents Frothman is the one that can really garner enough support to give him a real problem

He can and I'll bet will overtake Gingrich, even in the south on Newts home field. The Evangelical vote is his. Newts burnt out, after running for 8 years Paul still can't win a state in this cycle. Santorum vs Romney.... Watch how ugly this gets, idiots will push Christian vs Mormon

I've been saying this since the start of the nominating season. The republicans of the south and the midwest will never stand for a mormon (someone they believe isn't christian) as their nominee. Republicans on the coasts are for romney. Republicans in the south are for gingrich. Republicans in the midwest are for santorum. Republicans hate everyone... including their own kind. I can't imagine a situation where the republican party will be united enough to beat the guy who saved the american auto industry, killed bin laden, promoted democratic reform in the middle east without war, ended the war in iraq, went after predatory lending, ended don't ask don't tell, cut the number of the federal government employees (believe it or not), and added private sector job growth quarter after quarter for some time now after the last guy gave him a pile of shit... among other things.

If Romney gets the nomination the republican party will splinter... or we'll at least see a conservative third party ticket.

get ready for obama & clinton (crossing my fingers) vs romney & santorum vs gingrich and... caine (maybe?)

What we are seeing in the primaries is a direct reflection on the division in the GOP thats been brewing for a long time. The party is now split into 3 very distinct factions

The establishment types can tolerate Romney. This faction isnt as concerned about the social issues as the rest of the party
The Evangelical wing has just as much power now as it did in the 80's, no way the will support Romney. These people are the reason I left the party years ago.
The Libertarian/Tea Party wing has grown more but as people learn and hear more of the message it doesnt resonate with a large portion of the party. Ron Paul is evidence of this. Strong enough to stay in the fight, but not strong enough to really matter.

I think that Obama is beatable, not by any of these clowns though. I think Santorum could actually win the nomination and that would be a disaster for the GOP. As a candidate he represents a HUGE step backwards on a lot of social issues and would do worse than Romney in the general election. We'll see if the Evangelicals have as much pull in the party as I have believed for years. Ive been watching and waiting for this battle to come to a head or a while now.

ironically the evangelicals don't have a candidate this year. There's a mormon, two catholics and ron paul. They'll have no problem supporting a socially conservative catholic. They'll never support a mormon. That's why I'm positive if romney wins he will have to pick santorum as his running mate. I also believe if Romney wins Gingrich will go nuts and run on a third ticket and much of the republican party will follow him there.

i'd prefer Obama to any of the Rep candidates. Except Ron Paul.

If nothing else, Paul has all but ensured that we won't have a right-wing dictator running our country.

exactly. It feels like many on the right are trying to turn america into a christian theocracy... and claim that our world supremacy is a sole result of the God we worship... and not because of our balance of the ideals of freedom and equality.

Sometimes it feels like we're, socially, half a step away from becoming the middle east... only with a different god.

What laws are they proposing to turn our country into a theocracy? And why do you feel that the separation of church and state will not be maintained?
