Pawn Shop Question....

Well im going to the pawn shop with my brother in about an hour to try and get rid of our Ps2 and like 12 games. But we were wondering, Do we just walk in and say we wanna sell this stuff and then they give ous the cash? Or is there some type of awkward moment of silence when he says we have to buy something first?

Sorry about the questions. But never been to pawn shop before, And neither has my brother.

Hey Menace,
They know why you are there, they are in the business of buying and selling. If anything, they might ask if it is really your property to sell; but probably not. The real issue will be dickering over just how much they will give you for your stuff!

If they're offer is lower....I'd go ebay it or find someone to buy it. You might wanna look around and see what used PS2's are going for, and the games you have. They'll try to rape you, its their job

Hey again, digital scales are like a must, you should def get one. If they have one, make sure it works first and then talk them down in $ as low as you can. Check the prices for new ones on the web first so you have a reference point.

As far as the ps3 goes, I'm not much into gaming but my son loves them - I just pay for em...lol And they are pricey

PS2 is old now....you might get 25...Maybe even 20....You may be insulted by what they offer you...LOL

exactly... i did some research a while back. i just wanted to see what they would appraise my shit for. i took my barely old 27" tv, my xbox 360, and my ps3!!!! this was all last year mind you

they told me tv's have to be 2 years old or younger..... they wouldnt even take it

the xbox 360 they would only give like 150-200 MAYBE!!!

the ps3, MOST shops offered only 300....but one shop was so impressed b/c hell they never seen a ps3 let alone have one....they offered like 450-500

i didnt even want to bring my HD projector in..... i woulda slapped somebody. All from being curious and researching!

I was just going to suggest that you might be able to trade straight across for a small digi-scale at the pawn shop

Alright so i just got back. I ended up telling my brother to drive me up to the pawn shop but to my surprise they were Out Of Business. So i told him to take me to gamestop which is like 5 mins away. Well the guy at gamestop offered me like 76 dollars for all my things and asked me if i wanted store credit or cash. Which i told him cash and he told me he has to lower it 20% if i want cash. After taking of 20% i was left with $59.75 which was pretty good. Thanks for the replies everyone:joint:.
