Wow....apparantly quality bud isnt worth the investment? Go cheap, you'll harvest cheap buds.
Yes, rooting hormone is needed unless you are good at rooting clones, and even then its hard.
Since when does rooting hormone affect quality of bud? LOL. I guess its good I don't use any rooting hormone. plain water, 90% success. That extra 10% is just me throwing out what I don't need. And they are even beginning to root!! Seriosuly its as easy as 1 2 3.

Also I went cheap on everything besides seeds, and I get amazing buds. Its not all about the brand or price of your equip, its how you use it..

This guy knows how to clone!!! Listen to him Haha :D
I'll be sure to use a clear glass next time:shock:

I just had a random thought, if honey works then I'll bet molasses would as well. I think I'll stick to the powder, then right into soil under the dome for a few days.

All you gotta worry about when cloning is making sure you have no air bubbles in you cutting. 45* angle and you should get a smooth, "wet" surface where you cut and just stick it in some water.. if you get air in the stem then put it under water and squeeze the air out.. spray the leaves for the first week, put the dome on.. easy does it I'm telling you.. just wait like a week to 2 weeks.. if no signs of roots something was off.

I use to use water bottles, I would put like 5 cuttings in 1 plastic water bottle and put a big zip lock bag over them and it worked great! Lol super ghetto but it worked. Ill have to show you all how easy it is to clone.. ghetto ways, better ways, cloners ..

I'm sure I'll do fine, every video I have watched show pretty much the same methods by re-cutting underwater. Some folks also gently scrape the stalk before applying powder and placing into the medium. Since I already have the stuff, mine as well use it.

I believe you are misconstruing my worda. I didnt say if you dont buy rooting hormone you cant grow quality bud, I said if you cheap out on stuff, it will show. And by that I dont mean buying cheaper equipment is going cheap, I mean not buying equipment that you pretty much need to save a few bucks is going cheap. If buying a rooting compound is too expensive for you, then what else are you not picking up? Thats all I mean. If something would be good for your grow that costs ten bucks but you wont buy it....thats going cheap on your buds.

I also said you dont NEED rooting compound, I said it could be done without, but it takes a bit more skill than using a rooting compound does.

I get cheap nutes too....my product exceeds 20 % cannabinoids consistantly. Dont twist someones words just to make an attempt at mocking them so as to feel superior...

Look, I wasn't trying to twist your words around, or try to offend you. Your post was sort of miss leading so my apologies on the misunderstanding.

Nor was I mocking you to feel superior I was just letting people know its not all about how much you spend because its not. Disagree with me, but I have my buds from cheap cheap buying. I'm like *racist money joke here* when it come to buying stuff.

Anyways this was all that was directed to you and I wasn't trying to offend you. you got to admit its funny if someone thinks rooting gel will give you higher quality bud.. lol seriously. That's what I was reading when I posted. I was probably too high to undertand

Again, no disrespect, just my opinion. Happy growing:leaf::peace::leaf:

If your that hard up just leave your cuttings somewhere room temperature in a glass of water for a week or two. When you see little "nubs" or "pimples" just plant em in moist soil.

Its slower than using gel but totally free.

I own a hydro store and I brag how I grow the most for the least amount of money. I'm always trying to find cheaper ways. And yes, i show my customers, if they still decide to use expensive nutes, You know I don't have a problem with it.

It's harsh that people lump all hydro-stores as money making scams, my local place is cheap enough for all the "branded stuff", we get a Rollitup discount and if they've seen you a few times they'll give you discounts just for the hell of it.

Tis a pity people generalise when there's people like you trying to make an honest $$$.

A clear glass is just fine, the cutting doesn't stay in there long enough for algae to grow......especially when you change the water every so often
Yep. Plants have been cloned and rooted in glasses of plain water for decades with great success.......

you don't need anything. use ground up aspirin as mentioned above and use the hottest water you can stand to touch, not boiling tho. this allows the water to be wicked up thru the cutting pushing any air out. tip from hydro store friend that said YOU DON'T NEED ANY OF THAT CRAP. now thats a friend :peace:

Since when do roots enjoy light?. Every soil grow here I have seen started in clear party cups was a failure.
