like i said once before the senate rules everything so the government is almost non existant just a bunch of rich fat kats who want the cheese from the rats and it all ends with voted in by the dogs no one ever wins
Yes the Senate has power, but doesn't the House of Representatives also have power? The Senate alone cannot pass legislation to then send to the president for it to be signed into law. It takes both houses of congress to get that done. And even if both houses of congress do pass legislation it is not enacted, it does not become law until the president signs it. Also, if congress passes legislation a president can send it back to congress saying he will only sign it if certain changes are made or he can just veto it, which kills it, it is not enacted, it does not become law. So, without all the pieces of that puzzle how much power does one single part, as in the Senate, actually hold when it comes to governing?
Then of course you have the third arm of the government, the judicial system, and if congress passes legislation that is unconstitutional and the president signs it the Supreme Court can strike it down, like we are very likely to see happen with the provision in ObamaCare that requires Americans to purchase insurance. It is not within the power and authority of congress or the president to force Americans to purchase any product, and that includes insurance.
So it seems that there actually is a bit more power spread around the entire government than you claimed when you said "
the senate rules everything."
