i was wondering about the return. 5 g from an O is pretty low. i know we're making primo. but damn. is the left over ground trim completely useless at this point or could it be put through bubble bags to get the last goodness out?

I use 5g conservatively... Some times I get like 5.8... 5.5 and sometimes I get 5....

it really depends on your weed dude... you can always yield higher by doing certain things, but at the same time this detriments the quality of the oil..


You will see, 5 g lasts a hell of a long time.... like i said me and 3 other guys for 4/20/11 got through about 2.5g of dabs before we were all completely useless... one guy walked outside and puked in the bushes ... the guy that didn't have a tolerance for oil as we did he was having fun though

hahaha dude i have no doubt 5g of that stuff would cater me for a long time. i don't really smoke that much, maybe a half gram to a gram a day

Then a gram would probably last you a solid week at least. I wouldn't worry about yield, worry about potent, clean oil.

I smoke joints to myself and feel OK, but I take a dab (or two) and I'm just baked all morning.. Great thing for running out the door.

probably longer really haaha and yeah your right the focus is on the quality. i keep my tolerance fairly low these days. i remember my first oil joint. blue moonshine herb and oil in a fat cone. men a buddy were going to the pictures. i got the fear in the line cos it was half term and the place was swarming with families and young kids. my legs were shaking for the first hour of the film.

if you think smoking oil in a joint is some intense shit you need to start dabbing in an oil dome or on a skillet

Quality/consistency yes... you dont want to use way more butane than you need to get a higher yield because your oil will be runny and watery... although there will be more I don't think it's worth it...

just give your nuggets a good clipping or coarse grinding to expose the most surface area.. but dont grind to dust... pack well, not too tight. pack consistently, then run the proper amount of butane through your ground nuggets... and you will get the best yield you can get and you will have some REALLY really nice oil that will get you proper fucked after a dab... and you will have more than you can dab in a month..

ive often wondered how many cans of butane i should put through the tube. i generally do one and a half to the ounce tube which is about 9inches long i think?!

Verde is right . about half sugar trim, and half small bottom buds.The fan leaves get thrown out.. I can fit twice as much in the tube when I grind everything up. Saves money on butane, and also seems to flow better through the tube. I'm not patient enouph to use a grinder though, so I chopped it up in a blender. lol

I feel you on the grinder.. I have a big ass space case though... i have literally grinded 2 oz in less than like 12 minutes... again we dont want powder we want consistent chunks.. so big ass four piece grinders work well too

Nah you don't need to throw anything out!


Think about it..You can roll a blunt with powdered weed, but it might clog up and not hit right because the air doesn't flow through it properly.... this is the same issue with using really fine powder and packing it tight in tubes... You run the risk of getting a clog or some back pressure....

I never throw anything good out! I had to point out, when I say "grinding" I dont mean down to a powder.. like you do with cannabutter.... It's best if it's in chunks that allow butane to flow well through the tube.. You will get the best yield and the best oil with a good, consistent flow of butane through your tube.




It's weed man, you can run it. You just might get some parts that don't get touched or saturated by the butane enough.. and your yield may suffer a little.... but it wont be like BAD oil or anything, you dig?

I've run stuff ground up that much before (by mistake)...... You'll be fine, just dont pack the tube too tight, that's all. Use an extra filter if you've got one or rubber band a coffee filter on. GL

powder is fine. i just mixed in 10 grams of kief with mine. ground it all up together.

I made my first bho yesterday...very nice. I am wondering if I can get some advice? Does it look like I purged it enough? Seems to still have a lot of bubbles. Used my foodsaver, it was a breeze

This is a pic of one of my 4 lumps...got about 3 grams from a bit over 1/2 oz of Matanuska Thunderfuck nugs and a bit of sugar trim.

looks like it could have been purged a bit more, just let it dry out for a while



if you used your food saver, i dont think thats enough vacuum. My foodsaver only goes to 17hg..... where we need to exceed 23hg at the minimal to get some serious purging going.... this is why i have a food saver, in addition to a hand pump right now.

my new system will pump to 28hg-29hg, so im excited
