Hey, welcome to RIU.

How many plants do you want to grow in there and what lights do you plan on using? Im growing in similar space and keeping temps in check was my biggest problem

looks alright, i'd lay somthing down over that carpet, i'd suggest metal. and wouldent use any intense lighting, go with fluorescent since your height is limited. create a good vent system. walls are white so that's good. what's underneath the carpet? wood, concrete? it has potential but needs some work.

If I were you I would start with two - what if something goes wrong and your only plant dies(knock on wood)? All your efforts go through the window, electricity wasted etc. Also I`m not too sure if one 125W cfl gonna cut it at all, once the plants get bushy the cfl light won`t penetrate too deep, you would probably be better off with 5x25w that you could position around the plant. But then again, It all depends on what do you expect out of your grow. I bought 250w cfl for my first grow and it was fine to veg 2 plants, now Im trying to veg 4 under it but I know that I wont be using it anymore after that because of said poor penetration. Also - do you want to go through the entire grow with this one cfl? Im not sure final result would be worth it - you need two spectrums - blue for vegetative stage and red for flowering.

i have two 125w cfls but my friend has one of them my blue veg light... but i'd expect my grow to yield a couple a oz's... and which do you think is better soil or hydro cause i have a hydro system.

I have no basis for comparison as I grow in soil, but from what I`ve gathered hydro seems to be better but requires more attention. And couple of oz`s? Im not sure if thats gonna happen...

ok cause i was going to go with soil cause it looks easier and how can i not get a couple oz's....what would be your idea on what my yield will be with 2 plants then?

I thought you`re still talking about one plant, and yield depends on many factors. And I`m just a newbie with one grow completed so Im only saying from my little experience - two plants vegged with 250w cfl and flowered with 400w hps yielded just over 2 ounces dried and cured.

Plant on the left is about a meter tall, the one on the right got retarded during grow but was more frosty in the end.

Not to rain on your parade but you really need at least twice that height unless you plan on doing some serious LST'ing!

CFL's suck and you'll be lucky to get over a quarter per plant starting out, especially if you have to keep em small because of height/heat issues.

I wouldn't venture into hydro on your first several grows, stick to soil it's MUCH more forgiving.

How you gonna vent that cab? Heat is going to be your biggest problem.

GL!

Great job on your first grow mate!

If at all possible, i'd cut out the carpet in that grow area. carpet can get messy, and also i'd start with soil if it's your first grow to help you learn the basics of indoor growing and nutrition.

good grow....and to d.c. beard my cuboard is height can go up it's on adjustable racks so i can adjust the height if needed and i am still working on a ventilation system

idk if i can cut out the carpet i can build a wooden bed to elevate the plants even more above the ground.

Well shit, that was easy lol! 1st problem solved, now on to venting!

An exhaust fan would go great on top of that shelf, sucking air through a hole in the top of said shelf, and pushing out into the attic above if nothing else, as long as you're committed to a CFL grow...

Def don't elevate! Just get a small short-sided tray that fits in there to sit the plants in, so if water runs out the bottom of the pots you're not replacing flooring in the spring.
