took my boat to the shop. he found a broken coil wire and the center carb had some issues. we won't know if it's fixed properly until i take it out. it runs on back pressure from the exhaust, which comes out the prop. therefore the prop has to be underwater to check it properly. he doesn't have a tank big enough at his shop to check it in. i'm gonna load up and head out first thing in the morning. he told me to not even take it off the trailer. to just back in and try starting it. it may or may not run properly. i guess if it doesn't i go back to the shop with it.
he checked the compression and went over everything else. put in a water separator as well. he said everything checks out good. said it should be a good motor if we can get it tuned properly. he only charged me half of what he quoted me.

well then nothing left to do but load a camera and some smoke and go get some otter pics for us
boat runs a lot better, except my warning light flickered on for a minute. i shut it down and fished for an hour and fired it back up and it didn't do it again. gonna baby it for a few trips until i get it all worked out.

be careful dont get bit
it was just a tiny baby. it was walking along the edge of a cliff along the water line. i was following it along with the boat. at several points i could have reached right out and grabbed it. it didn't seem scared at all, just determined to get where ever it was it was going.
well don't go near the damn thing...
those mo' fo's are aggressive when they're grown and if you get em to used to knowing humans ain't dangerous it'll cause a whole lot of problems...
if in 5 years time some jogger gets mauled by a mountain lion i'll know it was FDD teaching it from when it was young that humans aren't dangerous at all...
