Led Christmas lights. I have read a little bit about it, and as with all things new, everyone who hasn't tried it says it sucks. I myself ( after my current grow) am going to try it. The way I see it is I will never know by reading. Basically make an led light panel by drilling holes and pushing the lights in.

Yep pretty much, its funny bcuz I see so many post with people saying it doesn't work and crap about wrong spectrom and wavelength, but tha fact is its alreddy been done, I poked mine thru cardboard it looks ghetto as hell but my light set up cost like 3bucks
I use all blue ones until I flower then add red and white, the little bulbs are all interchangable. But I also use a heat lamp during flowering.

Wow I got a heckler lol I'll put tha pic on 4 wizzard not kingdicmouth
Calling people names won't win you any friends here, might even get you booted for being under 18 as that's not the type of stuff adults normally bother with, just saying.

As for the xmas leds, screw a picture of the lights, I want to see a picture of the plant it grew and how much of it did u get? Being a game of lumens and penetration, I'm sure they work, any light will, but how well is the question.

*My 420th post :) Fire in the hole!

Seems like a good idea.....and cheap. I'd really love to see your setup.....I'm using a 2x4 space with 12 cfls, thinking if I add led X-mas lights, it couldn't hurt ????

i like the christmas light idea, way more penetration to the plants because you can get them on all sides and even at the bottom of the plant. sounds good, i looked at the pics and it looks like it worked out well

Why"? You're producing more heat with 12 cfls than 1 hps would.

We can't see your albums, only our own

high pressure sodium will by far dominate any other light source. get a 600w with a large cool tube and extremely strong exhaust so you plants can touch the glass and not burn. lighting is your most important thing. LEDs/CFLs are junk for flower, they only work good for veg or supplemental lighting in flower. you will make money back your first round to pay for everything including electricity. 2nd most important thing is CO2. you can get around a 60% yield increase. use a generator or the tanks though. you need a control unit also to measure the ppms. other ways like the CO2 pucks, carbonated water, etc suck. you wont even notice a difference with them.

I would love to see some spectrum graphs on xmas lights... thats actually a really cool idea, if for nothing else, for some additional lighting, like someone else said, you can place them just about anywhere.
