Why Aren't There More Female Growers?

I'm a girl, and aside from a few others I've come across, growing seems to be a hobby mainly dominated by males. Why do you think that is?

I know a lot of girls who SMOKE, but grow? Not so much.
Not that I don't love you guys but I'm genuinely curious.

I'd love to hear some opinions! +rep!

Maybe because of the labor involved......not trying to come off as a sexist pig.....but I know most of the girlfriends I've had hate doing physical labor, indoor and outdoor gardening consist of plenty of physical labor.......????

Also, girl growers tend to put up photos of themselves?
I never have, because, well, I'd prefer to stay incognito.

But apparently showing how hot they are is more important than going to jail for some girls. And yeah, I grew up helping my grandma with her vegetable garden, I'm not afraid to get dirty and sweaty. I can see what you mean though, I know girls who refuse to garden because it ruins their nails... OBVIOUSLY not all girls are like that but a lot are.

Men often take more risks than women i suppose bit would like to c more as they tend to care for there plants more lol!! Im not a women by the way just love me plants more than my women does lol

Plus i dont know a women that would lock themselves away for days on end trimming bud my misses thinks im mad sittin there for 3 days solid trimming bud but she can spend 3 days shopping at the end of it !!

Yeah I love my babies like a mother. I think there's definitely a nurturing quality in girls that would help when growing. Not that guys don't! And there are definitely some women without a nurturing bone in their body lol.

Most women aren't willing to go to prison to smoke for cheap. They just do what my girlfriend does; leach on to someone with it. FML

i agree women have that natural nurturing quality. i would also think a woman would be great at hydro seeing how meticulous you have to be with the measurements and levels and what not. idk go figure maybe there alot, just not so eager to share in online forums. i actually told my girlfriend about my grow b4 i started (i know i know) but i figured she would be better at me with the math and nurture of it all. but shes not... go figure

I know a few girls that grow for fun, but as a girl I know once said: "Why would I need to grow? I already get weed for free."

It's not cause girls are lazy or any of that shit, it's because hot girls know they can get shit for free. Why pay an electric bill?

LOL I understand. Why do the work when you can just get a guy to smoke you up. But I'm more interested in the different strains, the tastes, the smells. I love knowing what I'm smoking.

And knowing that I grew it myself makes it that much better! Fruits of labour are sweeter than gifts of fortune, I guess. And yeah, I could get free weed. I'm 21. I'm not ugly. But I'd rather be self sufficient.

Looks fade, but I'll be able to grow long after those girls get dumped for someone younger + hotter. Who will support them then?

I think it is more people assuming almost everyone here is male. There are a ton of lady growers around here. Never assume gender.

there are a few girl growers on this site, and i'm really good friends with one girl who grows.. i never really thought of it, and i try not to be sexist / racist in my thinking, but maybe someone was onto something when they said that a lot of girls don't like to get their hands dirty and the like..
it's a real sin that a lot of girls feel this way as i find great pleasure in knowing that i'm able to grow my own and support myself if need be.. and there's nothing like the feeling i get when i smoke my own bud..

I'm sure if you did a poll, the great majority would be male. I'd be willing to bet on it, in fact. Not saying there are NONE but there is definitely a gender disparity in the community.

finding this kinda late but i'm female, and enjoy doing everything related to growing, whether it be the research, setting things up, performing tests, and getting my hands dirty. i like the smell of dirt. now granted i am a lesbian and i suppose would be considered the "fem" in the relationship, my wife doesn't really do anything to help, just likes to smell my plants and smoke. it was supposed to be her project, but i guess i ended up being the one with the green thumb. oh well. its becoming a nice hobby.
