Looks good. I would suggest lowering your lights though. I keep my 600w light between 6" - 18" from the tops of my plants depending on how much spread I need. You should be able to get those LEDs a bit closer to the plants than I can get my 600w - Should help with tighter node spacing and trich/bud formation.

I would NOT worry about bleaching - I have high intensity UV lights literally up against my plants and they've never leeched anything. UV should bleach plants way before an LED does.

Here is your 300w version with 2 and 3w LEDs. They have them in supply in LA atm - http://www.alibaba.com/product-gs/379196241/New_led_grow_light_supplier.html $280-400 depending on how many you order.

I'm a big fan of HTGs customer service but those are fairly cheap Chinese made units. In the future you might find them cheaper from the source and you can specify CREE leds versus the generics. http://www.alibaba.com/product-gs/365819151/New_LED_Grow_Light_Aquarium_Light.html

Thanks Gast, I hope the HTG ones are too cheaply made I read there overview of their light and they were baggin on the cheaply made LED lights, They are all 1 watt LEDs on mine with different wavelengths and spectrums, I will also check into the website you just posted as well and see what they got I plan On getting another HI Powered LED after a few crops so about 2 months or so, for now I am going to add some more CFL's Im thinking 55W thats equiv to a 250W Hopefully that will help out some as well

Those look awesome but I don't understand the asterix - is it a 1200w system or a 580w system? It's pretty expensive - you might want to wait till prices drop a bit or till you see some good result with your current LEDs.

SG 1250 HO

  • Wattage – 1,200 watts;
    actual power draw 580 watts*
  • 3.5 amps @ 220V; 6.5 amps @ 110V
  • Spectrum of Light - 455-475nm,
    620-630nm, 660nm and bright white
  • Effective Area of Coverage – 4' x 6'
  • Lifespan – 50,000-100,000 hours
  • Dimensions – 22" x 30" x 8"

Yea I am waiting at least 4 months Id say, The LED lighting Im using is so far so good. It has all the spectrum's Red Lighting blue lighting White LEDS the right wavelengths and they are high powered 1W LEDs which aren't bad but from what Ive been reading the last few days it looks like the 2W or 3W LEDS are even better. I got about 4 months of research Im going to be doing now lol something to do though Like I said before Im used to HPS thats all Ive grown with I feel like a noob all over again with these lights

I have an HTG LED, the 90 watt version. They do exaggerate the hell out of their potential and coverage.
I have an interesting email conversation between them and me. I caught the guy in a few lies. Pretty funny.
I can post the email conversation if anyone is interested in seeing it.

I keep my LED 6" to 8" from the tops of the plants. Anything more, and they do some serious stretching.
You have a more powerful one than I do, maybe you can get away with 12" from the tops.

I ordered a 240 watt LED from Gotham Hydro. Should arrive on Monday.

I'm kinda curious to see what the 300s will do. Sub'd.

After using HIDs, why are you messing with LED?
I did a lot of reading on them for a while looked at the science behind them looked at the history of them and how far along they have come, and to be honest when you look at the cold hard facts on the science of plant growth you can basicly design the perfect light for plant growth. Its not all the way perfected yet but i think its getting close and where its at now was good enough for me to make the switch and see how it goes. So far so good and I dont have to deal with all the equipment with the higher wattage hps just 2 fans and two power cords to plug in

Yea they definitely exaggerate the space covered mine covers 6 plants well anything not directly under it suffers, But overall Im pretty satisfied so far on how they are doing I still have a few months before any of my good plants are going to be budding right now its mainly bag seed, my smaller plants are pineapple express, blueberry, fruity chronic juice, and a mystery feminized seed they sent me as well So Im anxious to see how those turnout these first ones are my lab rats lol

Never mind I figured that out. I kind of like these - http://cgi.ebay.com/Custom-Made-LED-Grow-Light-Highest-Quality-140-Watts-/250811210095?pt=UK_HomeGarden_Garden_PlantsSeedsBulbs_JN&hash=item3a6583596f

Ugly but they are super high quality LEDs and the guy seems to actually be an engineer and not completely full of bullshit marketing. Too bad the pound dollar exchange rate sucks so bad.
I read his description the pictures arent working on my computer right now Ill have to check it out tomorrow see if i can see them. I got a feeling in about 4 months Im going to be an LED expert by the time I pick my next light lol.

I heard Pineapple Express is supposed to be some pretty good stuff.
I was going to order a few of the 300s from HTG, but after that guy lied to me, and I called him on it, and he
came up with a story, I decided to take by business elsewhere.

I like the 90 watt, I just wanted to see what they would say about replacing a 400 watt HID before spending money
on a few of the 300s.

Lol that email exchange is too funny putting him on blast like that. I never talked to them but it caught my eye when i was reading before i but they said mine could cover 25 to 50 ft but it also said all the light is directed straight down since its LED's and not HPS so the only way I see that covering 50 squared ft is if the light it self was 50ft2 , I was hoping to get 8 plants under one but with the size of the pots im using and how big the light is i could only do 6. I don tblame you for wanting to go elsewhere, my next purchase is probably going to be with StealthGrow LED Im favoring them the most right now expensive but looks good plus they give you 12 weeks to try it if you dont like it i think you pay for shipping and they refund you your money

I think each of your 300 watt LEDs would be good for about up to 6 square feet. 3 X 2. And the 120 watt 18" X 24".
HTG is a great company other than their LED lies. I spent a lot of money there. And will again, but not on LEDs. I am
going to give this 240 watt unit a try, and if it works out, I'm getting 3 of the 500 watt versions from the same place.

I'm still learning the indoor growing. I've grown outside for years, but mother nature did most of the work. Whole another
thing with the indoor growing. Will be harvesting my 1st plants in a few weeks. Those are under CFLs. 148 watts. I'll probably
get about 1/2 oz. The LED is vegging a few plants, it does a great job doing veg, then those will go under the 240 for flowering.

Hi there I originally was going to get the Stealth grow SG 602 until I stumbled on the Blackstars. I'm currently flowering some plants in a 4 x 5 area with 2 of the 500watt flowering spectrum Blackstars(actual power draw is 300watts each light). Holy shit man, they're great, don't get me wrong I'm not saying anything against Stealth Grow, I'm sure they are very good, I just think it's wise to shop around. I live in Spain and they arrived at my door 1 week after ordering. Check them out ;-)

hey I brought the bad news up in another thread you just posted in but heres a quick jab at how you were ripped off

300w panel either has 400-600 leds on it (which isn't true), or it actually puts more like 150-175w of power into your 1w LEDs (which are crap compared to what 2w and especially 3w LEDs can do, although they both run about 1.5w - 1.75w each)

I wouldn't give the 300w more than 2ftx2ft on their own, with 2 300w and the 150w or whatever I would probably not put them all in anything bigger than a 5ft x 5ft tent
