Flushing/harvesting question

This is going to be my first harvest and i was wondering...when people say 'oh yeah mine were ready by day 65 of flowering', does that mean that they flushed 10-14 days prior after noticing the trichs start getting to whichever color they desire and then chopped on? or did they actually notice on day 65 that they were ready for the plants final flush?

My plants are on day 43 of flowering (skunk#1 and jock horror) and look just about ready. Hairs are about 70% red with some clear/milky trichs...they just look so juicy and smell so skunky that i wanna flush asap so i can chop em! lol you vet growers understand what im going thru....i know, i know!!!! Patience is a virtue..............im willing to wait of course if need be. hope to have pics up in a few hours.

Lordy Lordy that time sure drags on don't it? Why not treat yourself to some of those little buds from the side the light didn't get to so much? Mmmm sure look nice....I never had the patience to flush, and having tried bud thats been flushed I couldn't tell the difference. I harvest when the need, greed and weed are in sync.

Won't the bud taste like chemicals if not flushed properly tho? ive had chem bud and it just ain't pretty lol. Should i go ahead and flush now and start the 10 day final process? They are 1 day into week 7 of flowering (43 days). 2 weeks from today would be 9 weeks total and then chop chop!

Sounds like a plan. regarding nute taste, I use cow shit on my outdoor bud-tastes sweet to me.

You want to start flushing 2 weeks prior to when you are going to harvest. For example, yourself if your chopping them at 9 weeks then begin flushing at week 7.

i'd say start flushing man! im on my 50th day of flowering right now and my shit is almost ready, gonna give it another week. my strain is sorta similar to yours so 8-9 weeks will be plenty of time. flushing definately improves the taste! the longer the flush, the better the taste! im flushing for 15 days.

its when you flush all the nutrients out with plain water to get rid of all the nutrients stored in the plant. makes a much better taste also.

I purchased Advanced Nutrients Final Phase solution - I heard that stuff can flush in as little as 3 days. Is this true???

maybe 10 days for the final phase. even when using that it will still have a somewhat chemical taste to it. i'd just use plain reverse osmosis water for the last 2 weeks.

Thanks. I am concerned that flushing too long will affect the bud growth. Will buds continue to grow during flushing?

Also - I have multiple strains with varying maturity times. Should I flush the plants that are ready separately - or will it be ok to flush all the plants - harvest the mature ones - and return others to regular nutrients?

Any advice is appreciated.

On my first grow I asked the same thing..and was told that flushing is just to wash the nuets out of the soil, whats in the plant is in. so I flush once with plain water, give it a day or so(up to you) then begin watering with 2tsp per gal molasses, till I start showing more color in the trychs..works for me...of course I'm insane and i heard this stuff somewhare...sometime ...I don't remember where..

From what i understand, flushing even before harvesting is good because it prevents the salt/nute build up so yes, you can flush all your plants and then begin using nutes to the ones that aren't ready yet.

I have a 2 gallon pot and 2 1.5 gallon pots that i flushed yesterday with 1 gallon each (florakleen added). My question is, is this enough? Realistically is putting that much water to flush necessary or could i be safe with flushing with just a gallon of water mixed with some florakleen. The run-off of water towards the end was clear water (no more brown). If needed, ill do it again with another gallon per plant.

use clearex its the best shit around use it for 10 to 14 day till the leave turn yellow thats when u know ur ready to harvest !!! and just to let u know the way u know ur erb has been flushed corretly is when u smoke it if ur hash turns white its ready and if ur shit turns black that means u didnt flush it right!!!

i already used florakleen...should i flush with more water since i only did it till the water run off was clear or does it still hold some chemicals regardless of what the runoff color was?

im not a big fan of clearex. i think just plain reverse osmosis water works the best for the last 2 weeks, but thats for hydro.
