We have pits at our house and we bred dobermans for 25 years. My dog chopper is 100 pounds and he is a handful, we had him entered when he was 1 year old, talk to your vet or do some searching on when to do it. I disagree about doing it so young as they produce hormones and helps the dog get a good start on his life, men fell very strong about not doing it because we have them. Now it's clear that your dog will be very well adjusted and be a wonderful pet based on the active enviorment he is in. The most important thing to do is socialize your dog every chance you get that's where the issues are and by removing them it will help and that one time is all you need.
Now my dogs were 2, 3 and 5 years old when my son and his wife and the new baby moved in with us. We were very careful with them around the baby but after time when she started to crawl she liked to sleep on the floor with the big guy. I trust them except for my wife's dog she's the one that makes me nervous, they all grew up together they all share toys and chews and bones we have never had a problem, but my wife's dog is a little different and make me nervous. She's been altered and boy I can't imagine what she might be like if we did not do that. She's 65 lb and a wonderful dog but likes to kill small animals, we live in the country on 30 acres. The little one 45 lb is a great all around wonderful dog well cry lots when she passes, she's altered too.
Good luck but I think for the sake of the family you sack is gone.
Man of the house ask yourself this question. If he keeps them and bites someone your going to have to listen to you know who, bitch you out because if you had listened to her this would never have happened. Sorry you lose and she will beat you with this for the rest of your life. or you say you can't afford it
Do you want to have him bolt when he smells a bitch in heat, that means lose in the hood?
