okay - so I had a f**king fit tonight.... I went to one of my flowering tents.... checked inside, and found this beast in the middle of 16 other females!! ON day 14 of flowering.
Unbelievable - HE'S a greenhouse Feminized Church seed!! yes HE is.... Let's just say I hope none of my females got pollenated.
I took him out - checked all my other girls.... but it will be a couple days before I really know anything. Live and learn - feminized is not 100%~
Well I would say there are a few possibilities with this.
1/ cross contamination when they were making the church seeds with a regular male (so possibly an unknown cross with church and something else)
2/ hermaphroditus extremus, lol. I have had what looks like a male plant through and through push out female flowers several weeks into flowering. It would have been interesting to see if it done that. If so I would have chucked it as the seeds will cause no end of problems.
Ideally you would want number 1, and the only way to find out would be to cross som e pollen with the Church to find out if it produces some regular males and females.
Please take into account that the companies from Holland that sell seeds also buy their seed product off growers just like you and me. When growing underground and not having laboratory conditions, you will always get the odd cross contamination. However I think this is a nice natural way of moving genetics around and creating crosses.
I sat in Barneys Uptown with my business partner one lunch time a few years back and heard the owner crapping on these two guys about their seed quality....was quite funny.
Congratulations on the harvest Kiki, great job, will be the best smoke you have ever had and it will just keep getting better!!!
All my best wishes to you and yours, Peace, DST
