Ive done a dozen or so soil plants with hps and im looking for a temperature change and found 240watt blackstar's ample for my space (roughly 56in by 24inch) Im short on height as well.

Ive managed to get a nice clean/light leak free setup going.

Im running a 4 bulb 2ft t5 of name brand for veg with 3 g13 pineapple express in soil, 1 dutch passion skywalker in a waterfarm, and 2 delicious seeds il diavalo autos in a single pot.

Plan is to lst/scrog all plants. I need to find a netting somewhere. Home depot hasnt had what im looking for yet...

Running a 6in high output canfan on a variable speed transformer with a can filter. Its big. Odor is a concern and deffinately something you cant skimp on. A good portion of the room is covered in pandafilm and the floor is the base of a 5 by 5 tent I have but no room to set it up.

The pots are 3.5gallons a peice and I plan on vegging for another 3 weeks with some lst thrown in on the soil plants and scrog on the waterfarm. At that point the lights will go to 12 12 despite the 2 autos, they were free and will share a pot anyways. Hoping these leds live up to there name and I can pull a half pound off the 4 high grade seeds. The diavalo will just be something to smoke on here and there while im waiting for the major players to finish up/cure.

Ill also be taking a few cuttings/clones at some point and attempting feminized seeds. The plan is to take 3 pe clones and one skywalker clone. Treat a pe and the skywalker with colloidal silver and use them both as "males" on two female pe. Interested to see what comes out of a pe/skywalker cross considering there both GIANTS in the 100% indica game.

Well enough chat, heres the pics for now. Il get more in depth next post with an update in a week or so. 002.jpg001.jpg004.jpg003.jpg

Little update

The two free il diavalo look like useless garbage free seeds.... They both sprouted taproots in a paper towel only to be planted and shrivel up and die. 3 days in soil and neither emerges despite being 1/4in below the surface.

The skywalker was on pause it seemed like for a few days. I finally saw a taproot friday night come through the hydroton/first basket and now its 2inches long finally. In the last two days the first set of leaves doubled and the 2nd set is finally pushing out. Its being fed a 250ppm solution of flora nova bloom and went from pale/light green to a darker shade in 2 days. I added an airstone to the res as well.

I started lst on the pine apple express seedlings. Responding well thus far.

Everything is going as planned. I fear il be vegging another 2 weeks absolute minimum. Hope the skywalker hits/fills the screen fast.... For now its just lst the crap out of the p.e. in the mean time.002.jpg003.jpg004.jpg001.jpg

Another spurt of growth over the last couple days. The skywalker isnt doing much, just getting super big leafs. The first set of leaves is GIANT, literally 3-4x larger then the soil plants. This things gonna be a monster. It has a taproot coiled in the bucket (16inches maybe?) and today I saw a a second 1inch root popping through one of the hole in the top bucket. Problem is my res keeps hitting low-mid 70's. Stuck a frozen 2liter bottle against the backside of the waterfarm in an effort to bring it down a couple degrees.

Was definitely a slow starter but I have a feeling it will catch and surpass the soil plants by the time I switch to 12/12 in another 3 weeks or so. Not gonna vedge past the 28 of this month.

I popped the 2 fruity chronic juice seeds in soil, we will see if there duds too.

Seeing the beginnings of secondary growth coming upwards thanks to some lst on the 3 p.e. girls. Once the veg is over im thinking about throwing another 240watt blackstar and running three for flowering and putting the sunblaze somewhere else for now.

In other news Ive made a few purchases. Aluminum 20lb tank from the local gas company for 160 and a COCO controller/monitor/regulator off ebay for 329 shipped. Hoping that adding co2 will get me that 1 1/2 gram per actual watt off the led's. So Im planning on getting 3/4 of a lb with what Ive got now. Im sure the extra light will help big time if I wind up grabbing another one.

So far im in it for
120 for the sunblaze
500 in blackstars
300 in can filter/6in can fan high output
500 in c02

Total= 1400 or so. With a possible extra 250 in a 3rd blackstar.

Bought a iolite on a recontamination from StoneSour and this thing is the shit! I cant believe how dumb medicated you get, just seems to take a few minutes longer to get that initial feeling.

Update before I head out for the night.

Turned the exhaust/carbon filter off and hooked up the co2 coco system (regulator/electronic valve + coco ppm monitor) I saw it in some thread and the system was 330 shipped on ebay total. It works perfect as far as Im concerned, Its been running for a couple hours and ive heard it come on twice. First time was alot more then the second but it shuts off at 1500 ppm and on at 1200ppm.

Temps are 82-84. Blaming the stupid sunblaze :( I cant wait till im running just the blackstars. Topped all three soil plants. Getting impatient. Flipping to 12/12 in 14 days no matter what. Hopefully that'll be long enough to scrog out the skywalker. Pics tmw. Fed the soil plants thursday morning and did a res change on the waterfarm yesterday afternoon. Running 100ppm out of the tap after ph adjustment then roughly 300 ppm of nutes/greatwhite. I put in 1 1/8tsp of flora nova bloom and a 1/4 tsp of great white and that was for the 2 gallon reservoir. Ill be adding a 1/4tsp here and there this week most likely. Taking the easy route on nutes and not trying for a burn.

Got the ppm situation all sorted out. Just turned down the release on the regulator to a half turn open.

The two fruity chronic juice seeds popped too. These seed were BIG and super mature looking. Look solid for freebies.

Heres the pictures. Great growth after topping and adding co2. Cant wait to start playing with node growth :) One p.e. plant isnt responding well to the lst. Just doesnt like being tied down apparently.

Sounds good guys! :) Im pretty pumped by how much the skywalker grew in 4 days! Pretty amazing, I hope its double/triple its size in another 4 or 5 days. Roots are really starting to blast through the top pot.

Nice looking setup there. So you're running 2x 240w Blackstars? Possible adding a 3rd? Have you flowered with them before?

Yupp. 2 blackstar 240s and most likely adding a 3rd. The footprint isnt quite right for 2x3 and im working with a 5x2 area roughly. More light the better right? This will be my first time flowering with the blackstars/leds in general.

Im running into a problem though guys. High temps. I hit 90 twice today. Not venting via the carbon scrubber/6in can fan is killing me. I was holding 78degrees constant before and now that im running a "sealed" environment for the co2 temps are up. I tried shutting off the sunblaze and just running both blackstars and im still in the 90 degree area or damn close, obviously not ideal. Lights just went off so we will see what tomorrow brings. I took out the sunblaze around 3pm so im sure there was still residual heat. Running the exhaust right now in an effort to bring in some fresh cool (65-70) degree air to start with for tomorrows cycle which starts around 2am.

Yupp :( Shut off both blackstars for now. My areas seeing pretty warm temps for this time of year. It was manageable when the temp was 20-30 degrees outside. I hooked up the sunblaze and a 4ft 2 bulb high output t5 since 7 am (again temps were 88-90 when I awoke to lights on for 5 hours) and im maintaining 75 degrees now and maintaining my sealed environment. Plants are adjusting well to the co2 as well as the topping/further lsting. I guess my only options are to ventilate and use a shit ton more co2 when it comes to flowering time?

If you are ventilating you should use less CO2 as you will be replenishing the air in the grow room constantly (also replenishing a baseline CO2). In a sealed environment the only CO2 is the CO2 you are putting in there.

But technically speaking, running my 400+cfm can fan at half speed is still exchanging my tiny closet pretty fast. Thus sucking away the 1500ppm adjusted co2 enriched air and pulling in newer 300-400 ppm natural air.

My room is max 5 1/2ft tall by 5feet long by 5 ft wide. With a sloped ceiling. So thats less than 125 cubic feet? Meaning even at half speed im turning the air over twice a minute. I think that would empty my 20lb co2 tank in a day or two trying to maintain 1500 ppm. One thing that I could see working is having my canfan/can filter set on my variable speed transformer at 50% of full flow and have the transformer hooked up to a timer and have it come on for every 3rd hour? And play with how long it stays on? Im not concerned for once im in 12/12 as the room will have 12 hours to cool down and I just dont see it maintaining a 85+degree temperature.

Im experienced a rather nasty mag deficiency on the biggest soil pineapple express. First and second set of 5 and 7 finger leaves covered in brown spot. No mites, checked regardless. Sprayed all the plants down with a foliar solution of 1/4tsp of dyna gro mag pro to one spray bottle. Figure that ought to take care of it for now. Made it rain today on the soil buckets. Gonna give a light feeding tomorrow some time.

The skywalker SUCKED up 1/2 a gallon of water last night/today so I bumped it back up to 400ppm of bloom (its actually 500 and change including my shitty filtered tap water) Im finally seeing the ppm going down every day or so. Figure that means the skywalker is happy, healthy, and hungry.

Pic update tmw. Im getting close to ready to flower, I have no doubt il be ready by the end of the month to switch to 12/12. The screen for the skywalker will be going in soon. Only another 2 inches to go I think. Now all of the plants have been topped. Ill be taking clones in another week and a half or so. Colloidial silver will be used to cross the p.e. and the skywalker and a p.e. with a p.e. Any extra clones would just go into flower once rooted.

Heres the update.

Just fed the plants after making it rain yesterday. Run off from the feed was reading 900ppm or so which im deeming acceptable for now :blsmoke: The skywalker is chowing down 50+ppm between the two times I check it every day. 100 ppm a day isnt to shabby :bigjoint: Reservoir change yet again this saturday, rather be safe then sorry. Ill be shooting for 600 ppm (500 of flora novabloom and the 100 that my tapwater "comes with")

Ill be foilar feeding the 350ppm solution of cal/mag yet again tonight right before the lights go off.

The plants are growing like crazy and id say the skywalker has now surpassed the p.e.'s in terms of sheer mass. The stems leading to the fan leafs are the size of pencils. Res temps are holding steady at 20 degrees c. I figured out my mag deficiency I think, the water I was feeding with was set at 6.0 and must of dropped to 5.5 or so after adding nutes. Made sure I watered with 7.5 today in an effort to even it out.

I also retopped all of the aggressively growing nodes, in an effort to let the lowest nodes and anything that had to turn from below to reach light a little time to catch up, and who doesnt like another group of tips sprouting up? In a week in a half these things will be complete bushes!
