Nice clones indeed, however i noticed that you didnt cut the leaves. Always wondered if that was a good thing to do. Most tutorials always say to cut the tips off the leaves of clones, just wondering why you didnt cuz if its just as beneficial not too then id rather not! hehe

Thanks slojo, just like DST said. I have before but just decided not to this time. I had posted earlier in the thread my clone troubles. I read countless threads about the subject. Last year I tried it for fun just to see if I could get them to root and had great luck but I didnt want to grow them so I just threw them out. This grow I wanted to grow some clones and the first round didnt work with APS rockwool and clone gel, got ride of them, next round I got roots but took 2 weeks and the clones had the same deficiences as the moms so I dumped those so I did more reserch and kind took different things put them together and it seem to have worked so far very well. I have a root showing on a BC this morning 6 days in...The common thing I read is be sure to leave at least a good set of fan leaves, you can see where I selectivly cut off some but left others intact. I just went by feel and the cutting were very healthy so I just let them ride...

I am sure SL2 has his reasons, I often don't cut the leaves, I think it depends on how the cut looks, how easy and quickly it clones. It is def not a 100% necessity.

You gonna do any training to the Cole Train, Blue Cheese, Violator Kush or Pineapple Express? They are all branching nicely and could really benefit from it. I've got a couple Cole Train and Pineapple Express seeds laying around so I'm interested to see how they do.

You got plenty of clones, so maybe do some experimenting with training next go around? Either way, you're doing great bud! +rep

Hey Jerry long time no see brother. Thanks man, I almost runined the SLHs and severly hamppered the BKs but the buds are ok, and the WW, LS and WR are pathedic. I am too ashamed to even show those...lol

That Cole Train is an old freebie, I found some good reports on it mainly about the good yeilds so I thought I would give it a try. It started real slow but all of a sudden it took of. Its stretchy but Im impressed so far esp for a bean Ive had over a year. I had two freesh LSD and Red Dragon beans that popped and dropped...go figure..

I hear what your saying but Im missing the big colas like I had on my second grow. I have height in the tent to let them go. I have my tent plus my two homemade cabinets so I got room. Im thinking I will harvest the main cola and the let the bottom go longer if they need it to fill out.

After the current round flowering Im done with the topping stuff. Ill know for sure when I see what weight I get from the SLHs. They responded the best with the 4 cola method, but in fairness I cause all of them problems with my watering. Im just glad I caught my mistakes and they are packing on some weight now.

Im gonna let these go and see what they do and like you said on the clones Im going to do some training on some. Ill keep the tall ones in the tent and the trained one in the cabinet to even out light distance...thats the plan but things always are subject to change...lol Thanks for droping in bro...

Yes, I am opposed to topping for just the reason you described...you lose the part of the plant with the most growth potential in order to get 4 smaller ones.

But training (or LST or tying down) preserves your main cola while allowing the lower branches to get bigger...and you can get WAY more than 4 colas if you want to. You are doing the same thing as topping (redirecting auxins) without actually cutting off anything. And you can still use all that vertical space you have, just veg longer and bring more lower branches up to the canopy to join the light party!

Similarly, supercropping and then tying works well (I always find my supercropped plants find a way to straighten themselves back out unless controlled).

Just some food for thought...

I agree with ya especially after getting a few grows under my belt using the topping, lst and supercroping techniques. You just have to figure things out for yourself sometimes to see what works for ya, seeing is believing. It just takes a while.

I want to do a grow just like you’re talking about with lst starting real early and getting multiple heads at the same height, a bush of big tops!!!

I had so much unexpected room in the tent right now so I decided to just let the CT, PE, VK and BC go. Plus a buddy of mine wanted me to grow some "Donkey Dicks" for him...lol

Well well well, looky what I found at 5am this morning… just 5.5 days after cutting the clone..Now thats what Im talkin about...…..who is the winner, oh man its tooooo close to call. Need a photo finish hmmm lets see….Its a tie! PineappleX and Blue Cheese!!!!

Im going to give it to PE because when I returned this afternoon PE had 2 roots showing!!!!

me either, 9 or ten was the quickest and the last two methods I tried took 14. So I changed my whole program...I was fuckin jumpin up and down this morning...YEA BABYYYY!!!!!!!!

No more rockwool, dif rooting harmone, temps, the time after watering I take the cuts and they way I prepare them to put in the plugs and the amount of water in the tray and got a new Dome, didnt use the reflector....its about time it fckin worked, but honestly I think the very healthy moms are the main key....

looks good man, I use the same method, 100% success rate, no BS. Let them root up more before u transplant them though. The root riots are the SHIT right?

i wqas wondering why my clones always take so long to root.... but hten i realized... lol.. i tkae my clones wen therye like 2 weeks into flowering..... lol. durrrrr. u should see my sensi star clone i took 2 weeks into flwoering.. its got sum crazy growth and budsites all alongthe bottom. =) same with the chronic..but i dont think im gonna grow the chronic again.... i didnt really like it. =/ but anywayz.... enuff bout my grow. lol. your clones look great!! my clones always look like shit.. leaves get all yellow... adn fall off b4 new leafs even start to form... lol. cant wait till all these ladies are just about done!! love seein all thebig budded plants!!

4 down and 13 to go! They need to hurry the fuck cause Jilly Bean and Sharksbreath are ready for cutting! lol

yeaaa its almsot like monster cropping i guess... bunch of budsites all clutteres and plenty of places to take clones too.. idk. ill see how she flowers. and thatll help me diceide wether or not to do it again...

and idk.. the chronic didnt taste that great at all... it didnt really look great either.. almost looks like good brick weed... =/ and the high doesnt compare to the full moons high.. the taste and high was the main thing.. cuz i mean u can have sum bad looking weed..a dn it can get u high as shit.. but not this 1... lol. i mean it does get u pretty high... but i just deff like the full moon alot better..

wat did/does ur sharksbreath smell like?? i swear mine smells just like mangos... a very potent smell too.. and very distinct.. like mango and melons. =)
