Is Cali Still Flooded?

That's funny, because around here, trimmers all get paid in cash, every evening. Ten or so guys/girls lined up with with their Rubbermaid totes, weighing out, getting paid in cash and going home for the night. At $180 - $250 a pound, and with the fast guys doing three or more pounds a day, the slow guys doing a pound, and everyone else doing somewhere in between, well, you can do the math. And that's every night for a few days to a few weeks, depending on how much is sitting up on the hill. Once again, you can do the math.
I would love to find a weekend job doing that.

just an f.y.i. vradd, most professional and even part-time trimmers would get a bit insulted if you tried to pay them in product. most of them have enough weed that they really don't need 2 more ounces sitting around the house. for these guys its a job, not just a fun hobby. now a few buds as a tip is always appreciated. i know a guy that trims 5 lbs in 9 hours, and he does it extremely well. most people pay him the $225 a Lb that he charges plus give him an ounce cause he saves them so much time and money!

i can't afford to pay trimmers. my wife and i spent 6 weeks straight trimming this past season. we put in anywhere from 4 to 10 hours a day. out of a 6 week stretch we took 2 days off. it was as much a job as any other job i've ever had.

We went through the same thing..... but I was working, and so much else was going on.... shit we are still not done

It's fun for the first hour.
Unless you know how many hours and hours of trimming is ahead of you.

The last hour is usually a bit more fun ;)

Some strains are very easy to trim and weigh up HUGE Ive done top rounds off a G13 strain that would be possible to trim that much in that amount of time. I dont know if i could have done it daily for weeks at a time but on some days I bet ya could.

I have spent one Saturday helping a friend out. Sun up to sun down. It was about 6 of us. We kept eachother laughing and the time went by fast. If someone local was needing to hire weekenders that would be cool.

Weight your shit before trimming starts, then ask for all the stems/trim back afterwards, weigh it, then add it to the bud weight. If it differs from your pre-amount weight by too much, then you call them out on that shit. Don't expect it to add up exactly, but if you're a few ounces light on a # then you've got a problem.

Also I'd never pay trimmers by the hour. Always by the #, then give a bonus in nugs if it's trimmed clean. That rewards people hourly if they are fast, and doesn't cost you if they are slow.

It does every year. Gets a little (or a lot) more flooded every year. It always goes back at some point.
