Curing technics are what determines good taste. As far as crops go I'd be on my third crop and into clones by the time a conventional dirt farmer got the first crop off. I get between 12-16 oz's a month from a 1000w/hps.

You have to have poignant grass to begin with. A friend grows the same cuts I do, but he uses organic soil with guano teas and I use GH 3 part. His are more poignant. Doesn't matter how well I cure my weed it will never be as poignant as his. It's the same exact flavor, but less of it.

But it's not about soil or hydro really but about what you feed them.

There was a good article over at maxium yield (gh product sales site presented as a grow magazine site but with good articles) which more or less says that there is no such thing as organic hydro because hydro can't support the life like soil. Goes on to say that using things like kelp sprays and other products that are out there that todays hydro grower can get very close to the aroma though.

Personally I have to say that eating dirt pretty much sucks so by default I am going to have to go with hydro.

you get sharper notes from soil bud more terpines more taste .. but a 2 week flush in hydro with RO is so clean and fresh and shouldnt be overlooked.

If you cut the roots off and vase them for the last twenty-four hours, this will accomplish the same thing. This way my budding table keeps the same schedule and production doesn't have to be altered. Just be sure they don't go dry during this process and remove them just as the light(s) comes on. Trim and hang in the dark etc. I started doing this in the eighties to give my outdoor a better taste.

My wife does a lot of work with essential oils, i am considering having her make me up something to try to see if i can make a product to make hydro taste as good as organic, I truly believe it can be done. Would any of the hydro growers be interested in this product?

What!!! How do u figure that? I know dirt baggers pulling harvests every 60 days. You might be 7 days faster, if that.

Well that depend on the strain. The people u speak of could be growing something that takes 7-8 weeks to flower and they still could be harvesting a bit early. From what i noticed in hydro they seem to ripe quicker because everything they need is right there instead of for soil you have to wait plants have to search for food, air etc..
