Prop 19 didn't pass!

It doesnt matter what California says about the legality of MJ as long as the feds keep it illegal it is illegal and the knocks will still come.

So it doesn't really matter about what California says about MMAR (don't know what you guys call them down in the states) cards either then, since even medical marijuana is still illegal according to the federal government? So what was everyone's reasoning behind voting no? Just trying to figure out why people wouldn't want sweet lady cannabis legal, even if only semi-legal.

Because people listen to the negative PR campaigns.

Also, a large number of people that are fortunate enough to have caretaker status currently felt that their livelihood would be threatened if prop 19 would have been passed. This is a sad state of affairs to me, because these people should be the major advocates for getting this important medicine and spiritual ally available to everyone.

There are still others who viewed the regulations in prop 19 as overly prohibitive. While this may or may not be true, it still would have been better to let it get its foot in the door, then make the required changes once it's established.

Im a patient man not all MMJ card holders voted no on 19, I voted yes. We are already considered illegal by the DEA as it is right now so the argument that even if it was statewide legal we would have to worry about the DEA is groundless. Because its the same as it is now nothing changes other than you dont have any Staties snoopin around after you. It's unfortunate for those who don't have a legitimate medical reason and don't have a card because now they are stuck and have to go back into hiding. Not cool everyone should be able to have the same access to it and compete in the legal market. Just look at small time brewery's they make a living just fine brewin up some of the best beers in the world. You just have to love what you do, it's all the greedy fucks out there that are just in it for a buck and just pumpin out a bunch of bullshit ass herb. Anyone who can produce a quality smoke would still have customers.

To those of you who voted no you have shirked your responsibilities as the new generation

?So your argument is not to put "tens of thousands" of drug dealers out of business?

Basically we find that all the non medical stoners were too lazy to even vote and now blaming their loss on Medical users.

Secondly "drug dealer" really man? We are a little past that. This country is drug dealers wake up.

Im sorry my agenda is not the same as yours. This is why we are legally entitled to our opinions. Stop blaming everyone else for your lack of ability to get your message out.

I am very proud of my fellow Californians.

be proud of south dakota, arizona and oregon while you're at it.

they all joined cali in making sure no progress was made in ending cannabis prohibition last night.

harry anslinger would be very proud of you.

Not sure if you were talking to me - but I didn't say all med card holders did this. In fact I don't even think most deferred to this method of thinking. Those that did should be ashamed.

Whose argument?

The vast majority of voters are not marijuana users - medical or otherwise. It's got nothing to do with marijuana users being too lazy. It's the negative PR campaign against marijuana, originated by the alcohol industry(drug dealers) and perpetuated by the by the pharmaceutical industry(drug dealers), that has been going on for nearly 100 years in this country.

FTP, may I ask your reasoning for voting no? Not a list of every reason you can find against prop 19, but your specific reason?

and it would seem you are also legally entitled to force the rest of us to relinquish our rights for the sake of those opinions. this is how the abusive hypocrites of democracy operate. they whine about how their rights are being denied them when the tide turns against them, then crow and spout off about majority rule when their side wins the day. somehow the constitutionally assured liberties of others don't seem so important as long as their own desires are served.

The thought of huge 50,000-100,000 sq ft facilities pumping out thousands of pounds of weed.

Keep sitting on that high horse man, one day you'll stop blaming everyone else.

i don't really like horses all that much and i'm a bit afraid of heights. i also have no problem allowing my fellow citizens the simple right of self-ownership that you seem so dead set against.

Fear of competition and protecting your own profits. Got it.

The fact is, that's where we're already at, except that the stuff is being sprayed with more chemicals to hide the smell, seeded, crushed and ruined, and hundreds or thousands of people are being killed over it. You're pushing prohibition and agri-business and huge corporations are not going anywhere. If you're against commerically produced, chemical-laden, genetically modified weed, don't consume it. Grow your own, or buy from a gourmet organic producer. Prohibition isn't the answer.

You're going to call out and insult someone's intelligence after that first grade come back? Makes you look like ridiculous clown.

clown? that is your come back?

you are mocking my perfectly timed and well placed "your mama" joke as a poor comeback, and yet choose THIS as your comeback?

sorry, you are not even worthy of a comeback here.

'nuff said.

Cry all you want that Prop 19 failed, it appealed to a narrow section of the population and was defeated in a fair election. That's what is known as a success for democracy. You can already be caught with an ounce and have only a $100 fine similar in severity to a traffic ticket. I think that most cops tend to be (and have been for a long time) quite reasonable about marijuana for personal amounts anyways. How about instead of arguing over somewhat arbitrary state legislation we focus on the real problems that we can all agree with in the federal legislation?

You're right prohibition is not the answer. Decriminalization is. Come around with a better written prop in two years that doesn't so blatantly hand marijuana to big business, and I guarantee you see support. Plus if you don't live in Cali you have no say. I'm not attacking the rest of the states feeble attempts at marijuana reform ;).

You want to take a vote on that? Because your views on what's right obviously coincide with the majority of the population.

By the way, you realize that's the second time you just repeated what someone else said?
