To be factual- yes there are strains out there that have bad genetics; poor yield, easy mites or mold, too leafy, stretch, any number of horrible traits...
Who the fuck grows these strains?
Big commercial growers don't grow crap genetics...its PACKAGING AND SHIPPING that kills the quality. Poorly dried and cured crop, mishandled, bricked up, exposed to sunlight and heat, humidity...a myriad of events happen post production that break down the quality.
So even if that bag you got was crappy weed in smoke form does not mean ANYTHING!!!
Grow a seed from the shittiest bag of sticks and stems ever...do it right, and GUARENTEED it will be better than what you smoked. This is science, how the hell can you possibly argue this shit. Seeds are created from an accidental or intentional self pollination, accidental or intentional group pollination, or accidental random pollination from distant plants.
Most mid grade weed with seeds is created from males in a large group of females releasing pollen. The seeds you find in your shitty smoke are an F1 cross of male weed #1 and female weed #'s.
Take 20 seeds out of your bag and these 20 will NOT GROW 20 plants like the weed they came from. It's all dependent on genes. Out of that 20, maybe 10 are just like the parents ( there is actuall formulas to specify these numbers but were just ranting for now) and out of the remaining 10 there maybe some kill kill in there...maybe some crap. Doesn't matter, but there will be different traits from each parent plant expressed.
Big tall stretchy spicy sativa buds mix with a pungent lemony stank male that was more vigourous than the rest will produce diffeent bud than the pot you smoked. The only way you could POSSIBLY take a seed from a bag and grow the crap you smoked( and this goes with breeder seeds as well) is to have a IBL seed. A breeder has to undergoe a painstakingly long process to narrow down traits to the point that the seeds will show no variation. Those purple power seeds you order will NOT produce this EVERY time...PHENOTYPES and GENOTYPES people.
My point being that the seeds you are growing from your "bagseed" ( which we still can't come to an agreement on what bagseed really is defined as) do not have to be crap. All this talk of it matters if the bag was good or not- THIS IS CRAP. You guys are spreading falsehoods and lies about the cannabis plant. Do your research and know what you are talking about before you speak on the behalf of this plant. This shit is NOT a matter of opinion. Botany is a science.
You want to know what BAD genetics are? FEMINIZED SEEDS!!! I cannot for the life of me figure out why this is not addressed. Ask any real breeder, or someone who is at least above average in the game- NO REAL BREEDER concerned with the integrity of their genetics would use a feminized line in their crosses. These seeds are awesome of course for your average grower, I use them myself to pre-test strain so I can get a rough estimate of effects and such. If I like it, I will purchase a ton of REGUALR seeds and do a grow out of them. Make selections and decide wether to select a mom amd do clones or to breed for more seeds and then possibly a few backcrosses to narrow some traits down.
