are you talking to yourself online, thats fucking weird man your freeking me out.
anyway sorry for the post earlier, arlass got me password and saw the post about putting worms in with my plants. i ordered the new 2010 led ufo and vic was saying that they might be able to send it from the uk from a distributuion centre there and i would have it in five days and hopefully that way no customs charges. ill let you know when it arrives anyway. the plants are looking a lot better now anyway since i fitted a full extraction system because i think they were a bit suffocated. hope all your grows are going ok fellas. ill put some pics up shortly.
good growing

Yeah the worms thing I was considerin doin but I wouldn't be assed hookin up a battery to a wire and standin in a field for an hour lol never know though I'll probably end up doin that at some stage.

Jingle you can do pick and mix from either attitude or herbies pick and mix I think they pretty much have the same strains.

The electric isn't a lot anyway you could run a few CFL's and not have a real big impact on the bill, maybe around £3 a week for a few lights goin so I'd look into that side of lights sticky.

Gonna upload a few pics of the closet now in a minute, got a new addition today also...had another plant on the window that I didn't think was gonna make it through but I shit myself today when I looked, it had rock hard soil (so you can guess how long it was left) but had more budd sites than my other female and is around 2/3 weeks into flowering, so I trimmed off the the excess leaves that would block the light to the budds and put her into the 12/12 cycle along with the other ladies, gave her a bit of a soil turning and added a shitload of water & nutrients...fingers crossed she pulls through cause she looks like she would make a pretty decent sized harvest, possibly more than the first girl but I'm not bankin on it.

Ordered a new light aswell got that red specrum CFL off ebay until I can afford the UFO so that'll help with the recovery process of the new girl and the flowering of the original with the 2 auto's. Ye get a wile sense of pride doin this don't ye?

50 yoyo's a bag is unreal, that's what you guys are payin' down there? That's like at least £15 more than what I'm out up here after you convert over the currency from euros to sterling. Feel sorry for you boys.

Ok so the ak's flopped over when I turned the fan on today so they got tied up, don't understand why because the fan was used from day one with them, the 1st female is still goin strong but started to get a few white dots on the leaves, any help diagnosing would be sweet, the 2nd female as I said is new so I have to see how she goes but all's good so far.

hi doiremick
well i must say those ladies of yours are looking very nice, i bet u cant wait for them to bud up. did yours start to grow like crazy a couple of weeks into flower, after i injected the soil with air the other day its like the plants have just gone on a mad growth spurt, one of the lower new branches grew 4 inches last night! i guess pumping air into the soil did the trick alright.
the new ones you have look very lush indeed, good luck with them, are you doing a journal with them?
should have my light soon aswell, cant wait.
later

I think I'm gonna do a journal on the ak's since I have pics from when they were just breakin soil but the other new one I'm not gonna bother because it was just an experiment the same as the 1st one, still can't wait until their done though :) hopefully my light should be here in a few days also, red spectrum cfl, should be grand with the uvb light.

Never heard of that soil/air injection, how do you do that?

Hey, somewhere in Ireland myself. A wee pic included of my 3 who are 3 days into flowering light cycle on a 600 watt HPS. Heres a question for our region, I just got some white widow and looking to do another set over winter. I do this in my attic and its fkn freezin. Any handy ways of keeping em warm enough without using 500 bills of gas a month?

I'm only a beginner myself but I would imagine a grow tent would sort you. When that 600 is blazin you should have plenty of heat - might have to stick a small heater in for the dark period though - but grow tents are airtight so you shouldn't lose too much heat. Whack some insulation around the tent and there you go.

Nice looking ladies you have there -what strain are they?

Howsit going there, we're neighbours (sunny south east, me), what I did was get a few sheets of Kingspan, (70 cm?) boards of insulation, its really light, easy to put up, and you can seal your plants in a kind of box. I lined this box with reflective white plastic, and sealed the whole box with duct tape. The only holes are the inlet and outlet for fans, and I put a nylon stocking over the inlet to make sure you dont get any bugs in there. The heat of the lights stays inthere for a good while even after they go off, and keeps the cold out fairly well. A little fan heater to supplement wouldnt go astray maybe if it bastard cold in the January snow like last year :)

Have you thought about a flood and drain table? Easy to set up, no work once it is setup, you just add nutrient water and change it every 2 weeks. Youd be getting half a kilo in no time.....

Don't know if you fellow CFL growers have seen it but avocalite.ie does 85W spiral CFLs for 14.95. At that price you can afford to load up and get lots of light on your ladies' frosty bits!!
Excellent tip, thanks, perfect for clones and mothers....still cant see using them for flowering though, its just not worth it. If your gonna have the hassle of having plants, why not just fork out for the hps and do them a favour :)

Man i would love to do a guerilla grow, but i just couldnt face the thought of someone finding it and harvesting it just before me..lol...But my god those plants look good.

I just LST'd 5 of my autos, i was just worried about my height, i was reading a bit on the big devils and they seem to grow a bit to high for my room. I have read loads of conflicting things on doing it to autos but none of which affects the yield can anyone confirm this. .. well its done now so no turning back, it will be interesting to see. I left one of the fast buds because it was the one that sprouted twins from the seed and i want to see how it goes..I think its day 22 now and they had there first nutes on friday and watered again before LST'ing. I will take a couple of pics tomorrow to see if they have turned back up. Still cant see any hairs yet....Will need your opinions tomorow.
Hows it going Jingle, any news on the flowering? Are they day 22 of flowering (12/12) or just 22 days old?

Howyiz lads - new guy here. Currently have 1 lonely White Dwarf in my back garden. I have knocked the sh*te out of it and it's still going strong. Accidentally topped it while trying to LST it, then the dog stepped on it and it's been sh*t cold the past week or so but it's a real trooper. Looks like I will get 5 or so nugs off it - enough for a j or 2. I'm currently setting up a small (3ftdeep x 2 ft wide x 4.5 feet tall) grow space and planning on using cfls to start with. My question for the rest of you good people is where do you get your cfl grow lights? Do I have to use the 125 - 200W ones you used to be able to get in the headshops or would I get away with a shedload of smaller wattage bulbs?
Cheers!
Maulstrom
Nirvana in Dublin still has the big fat cfls but there mad expensive, those bulbs in the avoca lighting shop look like way better value. Youll get a good bit of heat off a few of them though, youll need to vent your box continuously with good fans. With 4.5 ft of head room you could easily put in a cooltube and a hps bulb (250 or 400) if you widened your box a bit, say to 5 feet. Well worth the little extra trouble and expense..Youd get a quarter kilo from that box of yours.

dBUDlya your probably gonny have to do what maulstrom was sayin a tent is your best bet as the heat from the light would stay in there, or spend maybe £50 in B&Q or somewhere similar and buy enough sheetwood and material to build a growbox, it's cheaper than most tents, if you do it right and have proper ventilation then you'll not have to worry about heat either but then it depends what your growin, if your doin sativas then your gonna need a bigger box and the heat would get lost.

P.s nice grow man.

Many good answers on here but build an enclosure and paint it White inside this will keep heat in and reflect the light back on to your plants, I run my light at night too and have the fans off when the plants are sleeping

Im a fair bit futher north. :)
This is my 1st grow so Im practising on some bag seed, have white widow seeds here that Im busting to get on the go.
Awkward to build a grow closet given its my attic but I plan on LST if I can to keep em low.
The lights are on 12/12 at the moment so when the lights are on its hot as up there - its warmer than the rest of the house!
At night its getting to be a problem and I can see the leaves curling a bit, and very early reports look llike 2 dudes and a chick - only on 4th day of 12/12 tho after 10 weeks 20/4 so I'll give em a few more days.
Made all the classic noob mistakes with miracle grow soil and additive but it is a practice run.
Plan on hydro for my WW and our local shop are very helpful and I'll have my noob issues sorted for the next one.
Does WW grow ok on LST?

Hiya jingle, I've heard of lots of cases of autos not flowering without being in 12/12, kinda defeats the purpose, it's happened to me with ak47 autos, never again.....
