yes i am the creator of the thread but with out all of you lsters it would not be so good, and i admit i have seen some better lst work then myself on here much props to every one and all theri plants. and dont worry about the rep, and i will keep up the FF just got back from the river but no luck today, but i am learning really fast. tomorrow i think i will pick up a few books on it

this is my first time doing lst, i think it's working out pretty good

looking good, what strain, and also if you plan on transplanting it is gonna be hard to do in that pot and if no transplant flowering soon would be good as she will get root bound. what size pot is it in.

I googled "Lawn Staples". Came back with steel U-SHAPED, 2"X5" pins. I don't see them working around my 10 gal. totes with any efficiency. Good luck & good grow.......BB

hey thanks mcpurple, i was going to transplant earlier but this is ended up being a little side project, its been on 12/12 for just over 2 weeks and no sign of sex yet, ill be keeping it in that pot also, not sure of the size
my 400 watt hps arrived couple days ago, ill be setting that up today, will it stress my plants to switch from cfls directly to the hps or is it better to introduce it gradually?

oh ok she should be fine in that pot then if you have already started to flower. and no it wont stress the plants at all they will love it though

True, lawn staples are very cheap but not free. I use them from seedling through flower, starting in small pots and working up to 3 gallon and the staples are very effective and reusable. I recommend trying them if you are using LST.

For the LST, you can't beat floral tape and home made "S-hooks" - The tape is 99 cents per 300', and the hooks are baling wire made with needle nose pliers. My cost for LST would be around $3.00 for the entire season. Pix below to show the action. Good luck & good grow...BB

The wire twist tie is just fine, but I wouldn't pay $3.95 for 100', when it's at the "99 Cent Only" stores for 99 cents per 325' roll.
You got to look around a little, LOL.......BB

she looks good, but watch her for hermiing if it was a fem seed. i stay away from those things cuz they are seeds from hermie plants. id rather pay less for reg seeds and just weed out the males or use clones

True, but I don't have the space to support enough plants where taking a chance on a group of boys would be wise. I've been keeping a watchful eye on her and every node I've checked is strictly white hairs, so keep your fingers crossed for me!

Not to argue, what you do works, but 5$ for 75 staples for a few years of perpetual growing is far cheaper than 3$ for a single season. Staples won't come out or peel off. Leaves/resin don't get stuck to staples. You don't need to make hooks with wire/pliers or any of that.

Staples allow me to grow plants horizontally while string allowed me to pull some branches out while the plant still grew vertically. Imagine there being a screen at the top of your pot that you could use to tuck the branches under and spread them out. Outdoors, it isn't a big deal, but indoors I can make sure my plants get as big as they can while not taking up vertical space. The plants are pure canopy like what you see in a SCROG but without the stretching/trimming.
