First time grower help.

Hello everyone, i have been browsing this site for months now and finally decided to create an account, just to see what people think of my grow op.

- I'm ordering 5-10 seeds online for my first grow, but only want to grow 1 or 2 plants, also im going to order feminized seeds, any idea on trustful sites to buy from, im in Canada, ontario.
- The closet im going to be growing them in is, 5'8'' long, 2'7'' deep and 7'5'' high.
- I am wondering if i should put aluminum or anything on my walls?
- I am going to be using 6500k cfl lights for vegetation and hopefully a 400w hps for veg, if i cannot find one i will have to use 2700k cfl lights, how many of each should i use if i want to grow 2 plants?
- Ill have an osculating fan running in the closet, with another fan blowing out of the closet for circulation
- Im going to use soil that has no added nutes to them, and use schultz 10-15-10 w/ micronutes, for flowering I am using color burst 15-30-15.

Thanks for reading and looking forward to some help, im not sure if this setup will even be able to grow 1 or 2 plants, once i find out if it would i am going to start buying things.

If you manage to get a 400w hps man you won't need any cfl's at all. If you can't get that, depending on the CFL wattage I would use at least 6-10 bulbs around the plants (depending on wattage and lumen output per bulb). You will have to keep CFL bulbs pretty close to your plants to get the full effect from them. As for your walls, what color are they? If they are white then they will be fine. If not, paint them white, or put mylar wrapping up. I have heard bad things about aluminum, as it can focus the light into a beam and burn plants. There are plenty of good seedbanks out there. http://www.nirvanashop.com/ is the seedbank I have used in the past, but if there is nothing you want there I would check the seedbank review forum for other reccomendations.

how much would a 400w hps cost me, i would need the fixture and the bulb, and maybe another 400w mh bulb for vegging.
Nirvana shops has a pretty good selection, thanks a lot on the fast replys .

bulbs are cheapish.. 30 quid/euro/dollar/pound whatever, the ballast is your main cost; 100 + quid/euro/dollar/pound and then yer cooltube or hood; expect to spend the same as the ballast

Umm it all depends man. You can get good HPS ballast and bulbs plus a MH conversion bulb many places. I bought all my supplies at http://www.growlightsupply.com/ but I heard HTG has good products as well. A buddy of mine said he got his 250 watt HPS on ebay but idk you may wanna check it out if your an ebay person.

get seeds from attitude
dont waste time/money/electricity with: hps - mh - cfl
for a closet with no ventilation, just get some T5 high-outputs
they are cheaper and run cooler than anything mentioned above

I picked up a refurbished 400w HPS and MH conversion bulb from insidesun - it was under $200 shipped, I wanna say 175

Thanks a lot everyone, is anyone currently growing or have other posts to link me too, I would love to hear more about your ops,
and right now I dont have that much money to spend on lights, i was hoping for under 100 dollars, looks like i have to cut down on smoking the dope till after i get these set up.

Sorry for the double post, but has anyone else used/heard of these t5 output lights, because they seem pretty sick if i'm only growing 1-2 plants at a time.
Oh, and does anyone have some opinions on easier grows, like a smaller growing strain that is still chronic?

T5s are good but if you can get the 150 hps for 69.99.
To answer your question any indica or indica dominant strain and lowryder/autoflowers will be good for small grows.

It doesnt say in the faq, but when i try to order it asks for a zip code, and postal codes dont even fit, it only holds 5 characters ;p
