pffft.. I know my shit.

and.. if I get tired of these noobs asking the same fucking questions over and over and over again.. I'm gonna tell them whatever the hell I want to tell them. If I wanna tell someone to search on google.. then.. well.. that's just what the hell I'm going to do.

The reason why most people tell you "noobs" to search Google.. is because we're getting tired of people asking the MOST BASIC growing questions.. that.. if you only just had a lick of common sense.. you could answer yourself. We're also tired of seeing the SAME questions asked over and over and over and again.. it gets old really quickly..

And to the Macully Kulken kid (however you spell its name)... yes.. some of us do take care of our plants. See, we actually like having beautiful plants.. and beautiful buds. So yeah, we do try and give our plants the best possible environment.

Stop reading? Never stop reading.. the moment you stop reading is the moment you stop learning. Which, apparently you don't know alot about.. seeing as your telling people to stop reading.. and take a look at their lives.. well.. take a look at yours my friend. ;)

that's all I gotta say.

peace.
The reading quote was not to everyone in general, just to Balzac. Here he is typically attacking people for having LESS education than him. As long as he has read more or has a more extensive amount of paperwork then he is supposedly the expert... LOL!!! (They want you to think that because all that paper is expensive!!)

But my position is that it is not education that you need but observation. All college has proven to society is that you can sit in one place for a long time and perform tasks that are given to you. Society is a construct designed to make you see your life one way. Education reinforces that construct.

My point is that after all that education and indoctrination, take some time and detach yourself and through the powers of OBSERVATION see the true reality of life.

I agree with everyone in this thread that you need to do research, and experience is the main key. but I'll back him up about a lot of people I feel are just getting lazy to. Not just speaking towards the newbs I'm talking about the "gurus" too, there has been many of times and posts that someone will ask a legit question, or even something stupid.....and not a single person will respond.

I agree newbs can ask any stupid question they want, but better be prepared to get a stupid answer.

There is a handful of people that answer questions on a regular basis, and I think everyone of them have made a comment on bad questions.

Sometimes you just have to Gibbs them and smack them up side of the head.

I'm an old fuck and have no problem help people who have at least tried to help them selfs.

This is Newbie Central but come on at least read one complete article on how to grow then ask questions about what you do not understand.

id like to reiterate exactly why this thread was made. the OP made a thread just before this one and it said "what is an autoflower. im a noob and dont know shiit". i said to use google and he then made this thread. i couldnt think of a more generic, simple to find question if i tried. not only that but how is anybody supposed to answer that? oh an autoflower is a plant that flowers automatically. dude just look it up and read about it! google, wikipedia, webster, ask.com i mean wtf man ...what is an autoflower lol

thats the whole point it is quick and simple to find these answers yourselves with a little research, we growers have done it already , why wait up to an hour for the response when you could have found it in seconds using the search facility or and search engine.

this is newbie central not spoonfeed central.

we say to do research so that you learn it yourselves . Not everyone on this site gives the correct answes all the time, how do you know the advice is correct if you havent attempted to find the answer on your own?

Sometimes it is helpful to be pointed in the right direction. I see nothing wrong with giving a basic answer and pointing to an article or giving a likely google search term for more info.

If you are tired of answering the same dumb questions, why dont you just not answer them and move on? Answer the ones you feel are worthy, and ignore the ones that aren't, rather than getting stressed about it. The situation will NEVER change, there will always be dumb questions asked, the only thing you can really change is how you react.

I personally would rather see a beginner ask a silly question than see a pro complain about it.

I agree its not like y'all have to answer our basic question but JONDAMON answered a lot of my questions it probably was dumb to him but I didn't kno it so it was helpful information to me and other newbs who didn't kno the answer.......I have respect fo the people who answer my questions wwit no problem.......and y'all say you can google yo questions and get answers in seconds.....that's how I feel here....I post a thread and get replies in seconds to....which is helpful ...

experience is the best teacher ... you can only tell a newb so much.. but at the end of the day it's his grow his experience.. theres lots of books out there that explains every aspect in cultivating cannabis.. "INCLUDING LIGHTS" but people feel compelled to ask on here ..since theres alot of "experience" growers on here
thats why i dont ask anymore questions for real. i will figure out what to do and how to do it. someone told me to read my plant and not read posts. but this site helps. trial and error has always taught me best. im on my first grow and I know already for my next grow, that I have to filter air intake, watch overwatering, keep my light closer and so on. but I learned it by trying shit my self and only asking questions once I had a serious problem. I dont want to grow exactly like everyone else. I want to find a way to grow that is unique and interesting. you cant do that following the heard.

That is one of the best things you could possibly come back with, anyone who is a "pro" has probably asked the same, if not dumber questions back when they didnt even know how to properly germinate a seed.

I personally am NO pro and i consider myself a noob and like i already said i was 4weeks into flower when i first started posting on this site.

I will generally answer any question within reason and will always try to help as SNEAKER has already said. I do however believe that research is the key. Just a few simple indoor growing magazines is all you need to have help at hand. You can usually pick them up for free when/if you visit a hydro store.

In the UK one magazine i swear by is URBAN GARDEN MAGAZINE there is nothing MJ related in this mag but there are always usefull articles relating to indoor growing. New Technologies that are emerging like PLASMA, LED etc plus there are other articles about crop steering, humidity levels, PH levels etc etc.
It really does help to read.

I recently helped a fellow grower who was experiencing problems using rockwool and at that point i hadnt even tried using ROCKWOOL before let alone had any information regarding it. So i remembered that there was an article in UGM about REAL WORLD ROCKWOOL and developing irrigation strategies to use it etc. I read this 10page article just to be able to help out this person.
Now im not saying i will never help the people with their silly questions i just sometimes dont see the need in them asking them.

Maybe if their questions were something like
I have yellowing at the bottom of my plant and i cannot figure out whether it is N def or whether it is just from no light reaching these parts of the plants what do you think?

THis would be a valid question because it shows that they have tried to find their own answers but have come across a couple of possible reasons and therefore need assistance in diagnosing it further.

BIGBY - Cheers bro it is a bit of a little gem huh? lol have you built one and tested it yet?

I believe BONZI LIGHTHOUSE has built one ready for his crop too.

If anyone would like the link to a drying box which takes the hassle out of mould issues etc just let me know i will post the link for anyone who would like it.

lets be honest the search tool on this forum is SHIT!!! ive tried searching for threads i was reading earlier in the day and search function rarely finds the correct thread!

and using google is a good idea but we all know how varied people are when it comes to cultivating weed... ive found myself searching for information on google and finding information that can GREATLY differ from what some people on this site have said to do.

Newbs can get very confused with this plus the fact that as a new grower everything that happens to their plants (e.g. wilting leaves, changing pots, drainage issues, leggy seedlings) scares them but to experienced growers those problems are easily fixed!

i do agree tho that the best xperience a new grower can get is to just try everything themselves as is it JUST A WEED!

I will give everyone a tip.

IF you like using RIU but find it difficult to find any information using the search facility then type something like this into google

"what ph should i be feeding my plants in coco rollitup.org"

If you type this into google you can even try it now you will see hits in the top 10 for RIU threads asking your question.

actually the best thing to do to search rollitup is what i do. goto google and type site:rollitup.org ph coco
or something like that, using keywords is usually the best instead of using a sentence. typing site:rollitup.org will only search rollitup.org and anything you type after rollitup.org is what you are searching for. this works for any website. google has alot of awesome search functions like that including ways to only search for files etc in the same way. if you type in site:rollitup.org it will show every page from rollitup that google has indexed but narrow it down by typing in your search. i find alot of great info this way.
