Oldest seed you have ever germinated.

So I found an old mason jar of some seeds my dad had been saving when we lived over seas in the military. This was 10 years ago, some of the seeds were from a few years before that. Anyway the jar had about 50 seeds and a few of those little packets of silica that you get in beef jerky. After planting roughly 20 , 1 germinated. So now I have this plant from seeds from some 10 year + asian strain. We lived in Japan and Germany during these time the seeds were stored so I'm hoping its something better than asian ditch weed. Anyway anyone ever planted some super old seeds and had any good results???

when i was 16 (my very first, and incredibly failed attempt at growing in a closet) i got a seed that was over a year old (dry, in the bottom of a desk drawer) to germ and grow. after that sad and failed attempt i didnt try til my bagseed grow which iam in the middle of now.

That's actually pretty cool man. Who knows what you might have unlocked. Could be "asian ditch weed" or it can be some old school flavor. Good luck with it!

I'm growing 11 or 12 known strains and she looks like nothing I have seen. Her leaves are at least 2 or 3 times the size of any of my other strains. Oh she is young but showing her sex already, tiny little whispy pistils and hairs as finer than thread coming out. I cloned her last week just waiting for some roots on clones before I toss her into flower to see what the buds look like and start a few new moms if looks Kosher.
Thats a 7 gallon tall she is in for a size comparison, the leaves in the background on the bigger plant but smaller leaves are a 10 gallon plant, her leaves are like 10 inches long and 5 inches wide is this a good or a bad thing ?

just means more room to store nutrients for buds, dunno how that could possible be a bad thing. well there is one thing, and thats light penetration. start some lst, make sure the light keeps a good penetration, and it should turn into a beautiful yielder (barring any mistakes or genetic variances you are unaware of).

That seed is the brute of the litter, best genetics. The weak ones die off and the strong survive. The strain could be anything, not gonna guess.

Best I could do with string and tape, I made little slings for the main branches, now it looks like I'm growing 3 plants in 1 bucket =D

how did your plant develop 3 main stems like that? All of mine only have one but I've seen so many others with the same multiple stemmed plant and it's not from training... I don't get it

or do you guys top it when it reaches 2-3 nodes -.- ?

Pinching the top when it was only a few inches tall, I know allot of people frown on this and say it can cause stress, but I'm still in the experimental stages of growing.

Oh, when i repot out of cups or 1 liter pots into a bigger pot i tear off the lowest new growth and plant it a few inches deeper so it has more support for the multiple main branches.

by pinching, do you mean restricting the flow of nutrients or pinching out the new growth shoots a.k.a. fimming?

Worth it though IMO,, your plant is twice the size of mine from doing that.. and probably took the same veg time..

How long have you been vegging the plant?

At about week 5 or 6 now, I just pinch, rip the top budding set of leaves off the top of the plant.
Budding as in new growth not flowering -P

dam.. i guess it's better to FIM early than late.. cus I just fimmed mine at the 7th node but they are growing very slowly now.. at week 5 or 6 also.. your plant kicks my plants ass.

If you want stronger support another way is to bend the main stem a few times each day. Even if you bend it only once it will immediately start to thicken within a few days.. you can do this with other parts of the plant as well.

My LST'ed plants have twice the trunk/stem size as my non LST'ed.
On my non-trained plants the parts where I bent the plant on accident are way thicker than the rest of the stem... looks kinda funny.

and only do this if the stem is still flexible... if not, don't do it cus it'll snap.

White widow 2 1/2 year old and they was stored in a draw no cooling just left in the draw,And i had near 100% success germantion.Although i would advise storeing the seeds in a cool place like a fridge check out greenhouse seeds web site tells you what temp.

Looking nice man. Didn't think you were this far along. From your OP I thought you meant you just germed it like yesterday or something. When do you plan on starting to flower?
