papaya is a really REALLY heavy strain... when I grew that stuff I remember it just packing on new pistols up to the day I harvested...I harvested a little early(mostly milky, little to no amber) I will say. I never flowered then revegged them so I dunno...but its no surprise that they are still trying to pack it on even at this point. My guess is that it may take a bit longer for those girls to mellow out. personally I think your probably right...putting them outside now may not be a good idea...Even if they are the last to go outside...once they kick in during the flowering time they will pack on some serious wieght....seriously fast. still to this day papaya is the best smoke I've ever had.
Hey slabhead whats up man just check'n you out to see if i can leaarn something from you bro,I just harvested my grow today and as you know i have done papaya in my last three grows and as this poster say's the shit is kind of one of a kind if you are looking for an all around smoke with very high potency and great taste and smell with bag appeal you cant go wrong with it what kind of issuse are you having with the papaya all of mine seem to be very resilient and strong and i stress my plants like i do the ole lady lol all day long lmao, but seriously give me a holla if she starts acting up on you but from what i can see your shit looks great as always..since i wont be starting again until the end of july i'll have plenty of time to watch you pull this rabbit out of your hat..Peace

Looking good Slab, I'd say you got some serious numbers going on now brother. Going to be a bumper harvest this season for sure.
NeL, man these numbers are sure a lot of work though. I hope I make it. Thanks for the good vibes. :weed:

Nice to you're busy as ever!

All the girls look real happy. Some of those look like they'll be 10 footers come fall!

How are the holes coming along?
Thanks C, LOL on the 10 ftrs. I can dream though right? Thanks for the visit bro.

hey slab, does jack the ripper have multiple pheno's or are they all pretty uniform?
Hey donkey, what up? My JTR seem to be very similar not that they are older. I had one that was not as fragrant but it has come into it's own now. I can't wait till harvest.

Hey slab its been a while since we heard from you how are things going?
Yo Nick, been as busy as a long tailed cat in a roomful of rockin' chairs. Thx for checkin' How's your massive outlook?

Busy I'm sure.:hump::fire:
Ha, don't you know it! :hump:

Hey slab, haven't checked in on your grow in awhile, but those things look beautiful.

Go Cowboys.
Thanks neighbor. I'm hoping for a mild summer. 0 hurricanes, little drought, occasional rain, and minamum termite damage. Wish me luck!

Thanks for the update man, keep up the good/hard work
You too man. Thanks for rattling the cage.

Yo Slab awesome journal man! Are the plants you 12/12'd for sexing then re-vegged still putting out flowers?
Howdy CoLove, welcome to this little patch of ganga. Some are still struggling with the daylight hours. The clones that is. Most of the indoor that I flipped have revegged. The Papaya was/is slow though. The Bubblelicious clones are almost all flowering. although some are showing some new growth. The Dairy Queen, Jack The Ripper, and Violator Kush revegged pretty quick. Thanks for the compliment, I love Colorado too. :weed:

Lets get this adventure goin brother Slab. I have my backpack on and loaded.
Thanks GT, I was about to think I was gonna have to do all the hard work by myself...ha

Def some good info from you bro. I've heard all good things about the Papaya. Mine just went crazy flowering when I flipped them to sex and have just now tried to put out new growth. I can't wait to see how they finish out. So fruity and sweet smelling already. I appreciate the inside line on advice.

Gosh everyone, thanks for all the kind words and support. Lots of work into this project already and lots of work to still come. I planted a couple little plots of bagseed to check out some new spots. I've been "trying" to prepare a half dozen big planting holes for clones a day. Some days haven't been too productive though.:joint: I've still got many to go. But I'm setting them out as they get about knee high. Then there are the 30 gallon tubs with 3 to 4 ftrs in them. I still need more bamboo stakes and more peat bales.

As always thanks for the visit and advice. :leaf:

pics when I can...

Slab I'm gonna re-read back through this and glean what info I can about your cloning technique as I'm sure it's in there, but if it's not you should start a "Slabhead's Cloning Technique" thread that outlines your approach sometime. I haven't seen many others on here doing as much cloning as you are and you've obviously got it down!

the reason i ask slab is i have 2 plants that are tri nodal and 1 that isn't. any of yours like this?
I' ve had those before. They usually grow out of it by 12 or so nodes. I'm not so sure if it's genetic of environmental influenced. They grow wierd sometimes. I even had some Dairy Queen twins out of 1 seed. The main criteria I look for is robust growth and no herms. I'm curious if my Bubblelicious reherms on me after I picked those off from sexing.

I'm just lucky I guess. I've tried some different methods to see what works best for me. I'm gonna stick with Clonex gel, Rapid Rooters in a Mondi dome over a heating pad under cfl's and/or T5's. But you still gotta watch them for rot and drying out.

Thanks for looking. I'm an old dog grower still learning these new techniques myself. I'm learning to love these mail order seeds too. Awesome genetics out there. I might offer some of mine one day. :weed:

Quick update on the pollen boys.

So far I've tried to impregnate Papaya, Violator Kush, and Bubblelicious. I used the selected male for each strain after washing down with distilled water and allowing to rebloom in isolation. Then I exposed the female(s) of each variety to the male of same. A bit of hanky panky paintbrushing and ocsillating fan for a day then removed.

All the boys are living alone a few miles out for the next round of service. Slabhead's Select Seeds in the making. :weed:

You really do have this down and must have a ton of room to work with or be bartering with the next door neightbor to get them to shut their mouths. Good for you wish I could find a similar situation to do something like this. I am limited to indoors with a boat load of the expensive plug in air fresheners. It works though with some crazy buds.

after allmy years of growing I finally built an aero cloner out of a cooler and it's hands down the easiest way to clone. All you do is set it and forget it. I don't even check on them for a full 7 days. No more cloning gel, rapid rooters, humidity domes, misting ect. All you do is cut them and place them in the cloner and your done. I usually got 90-100 the old way and this way is always 100%. Check it out in my indoor journal. The cloner costs 91 to build. page 2 https://www.rollitup.org/hydroponics-aeroponics/317368-nels-first-go-round-aero-2.html

Yea I've got the Clonex gel, Clonex Solution, bag of Rapid Rooters, heat mat, and a DWC bubble cloner. Gonna try a couple in just the RR in a humidity dome and a couple in the DWC bubbler. Good to hear you use Clonex and RR. I'm on the right track

Pulled my last 50 cuttings yesterday from JTR, DQ, CJ, VK, and Pap.

Transplanted the last clones to bigger pots.

Set out the rest of the Papaya mom's in 3x3 holes. Those are big freakin' holes.

Seeing feral hogs almost everyday. Packing in the Win Def w/ 00B for now.
