Well is there actual soil/dirt in the mix? Because as best I can tell per-lite and vermiculite have no nutritional value for your plant. They both serve more to keep the dirt/soil from staying soggy too long, and gives more room for air in the soil. To me it sounds like there is 0 dirt/soil and thus the little buggers have either starved, or are starving because there is nothing to eat/drink besides plain water. The lights are also too close apparently, rule of thumb of cfl bulbs is 1-2 inches

oh well if one is doing fine and the rest are crap, it might be that the light was so close it killed them? At 3cm distance it is probably heating them up to much, those bulbs don't get that hot, but like I said most people say 1-2 inches above with cfls (maybe even more for seedlings that tiny). Also: 60% and 60% = 120 lay off the weed man! haha

first is it possible to grow with some backyard soil(I have dogs so I guess the dirt is a little fertile lol),no fertilizers, and good ol sunlight??

and if a plant becomes root bound is it still possible to flower it and get sum bud or willl it jus die??

haha, yea i meant 40% ver and per, and the 60% is soil, so soil is in the mix, i just moved the lights up a bit, so i'll see how they do now, cheers everyone

Dog poop = Really Bad

Root bound is actually rare a bigger worry is root spinout

I recently started an indoor grow for a friend so all the work you see is mine. I need advice in what might be the best method to train my plants. They are not your typical plants. In short they are very stout and have lots of branches, I mean "lot's" so if anyone has any ideas I am welcome to hear them. To keep this thread as small as possible I will include just one pic, however every strain is pretty much growing the same.

IMO LST'ing would be the best way to train that plant, very good job by the way, very healthy plant

ok so i was informed young plants do not need a dark period. so what i was wondering is for seedlings and young plants how much will this really increase growth and how long before you put the lights on a timer for 18/6???

I have done both 18/6 and 24/0 and think 18/6 is a better option.. My plants actually look healthier on 18/6 and I don't believe the extra 6 hours effect growth too much at all... This is debated but I am speaking purely from experience.. plus you save money on electricity...

hmmm.. I think you should consider Low strength training (lst). It all depends on genetics of the plant. When forcing a big plant into a small container plants often exhibit signs of "rootbounding" (deficencies, burns). Though, if you REALLY know what you are doing you can prevent this... but Id def. not recommend it to a rookie. I would say try 3 gallon pots and LST them... Sorry not trying to thread jack just figure riddleme was trying to figure out my riddle

you ask either guard and just take the opposite door they say. the lying guard will say the opposite of the other guard, because he will lie about the right door. and the truthful guard will tell you what the other guard would say which would be a lie. so if the doors are labeled left and right. the left being the wrong door, boths guards when asked this Q would have to be the left door.
