I know that there wont be any way for me to keep down temps in the tote later in the year but this is just for me to get a feel for how this wonderful plant reacts in a bubblponic setup. Ive never tried it out and am super curious. And if anyone is wants to know im actually using a 1/4 in hose from the pump in the res to feed the net cup so it is an actual bubbleponic setup. correct me if im wrong about that.
sounds like a hydro, if you dripping in the net pot. the bubble disc bubbles break at the waters surface, causing small droplets of water, or mist to soak roots. that is bubble or aeroponic.
the vert bulbs seem like the way to go, because they are cheap. you wire you ballast components and simply hang a bulb in a socket from the air. costs about $160 per 1000w. there are no reflectors, so a lot of the light is wasted, and the bulb is just right there in the room cooking that bitch out. no sealed hood, nothin. just a bulb hanging from a cord. seems real inefficient to me? next thing you gotta have a 2 ton chiller to cool of the room, and so on.

last shot is awesome, i do the same thing, heh he....

oh, almost forgot, bury that tote in the yard in a spot that is shaded dury the most intense part of the day, and the ground will help keep it cool. later

I dont know weather its bubble or dwc or what, but its a fun little side project none the less. I think Im gonna leave it where it is for now cause I just might flower it out in the shed with the next batch of wonder woman. Thanks though I have heard of others putting the res in the ground but I dont know how succesfully. I think you might need a bigger res for all that.
about the vertical lights: when I decide to try dwc on a larger scale I think at first Ill see how well it does with my cooled horizontal bulbs. Then just for shits & giggles ill prob just try out the vert. bulbs to see if there is any noticable difference between the two. A lot of the vert. growers say that having no reflector is a benefit because the plants recieve light from 360 degrees around the bulb and the reflector obviously doesent reflect 100 percent of the light. The china hat style reflectors could possibly be a good option also for vert. growing. But I can only speculate as I have absolutely no experience in this area. Do you know if you can use the vertical fixtures with any ballast or do they have special ballasts for those.

Looks good QR. They will bulk up more in the coming weeks. You could look into Co2, I didnt see it listed in your set up. I am currently saving up for a burner.

For an example, my homie had clones from the same mother, a room the same size as mine (6x8x9) with twice as many plants, about 1/2 the height of mine, he flipped his ass soon as they rooted well. He had 3 1000 hps, I had 2. He ran Co2, I didnt, he pulled 5 lbs, I pulled 1 1/4. He let his go about one more week for color. There are some variations to the set ups, but really the essentials are similar, except he pulled alot more than me... He contributes it to the Co2.

you know I just started with this setup and am not used to it yet. I think Ive got a long way to go before I get co2. To quote jigfresh from his journal Co2 is like a turbo on a car if you dont have a good engine to start with the turbo might help a little but not as much as if you got a race engine and then slap that bitch on there. So basically no co2 until I get my shit dialed in proper like.

Hey quickrip. Thought I'd check out your grow, It looks awesome. I would love to have the space (And cash) to do this sort of thing one day.
It's quite funny, your grow is very similar to mine just on a far greater scale. I hope that ditching the screen works out for you. You can do what I have done and train down any branches that shoot above the rest.
What day into flowering are you in now? I am on day 42. Looks like we are in similar stages too. Good luck, I will be sure to keep an eye on it.

Ok Ive been admiring my plants for the last 20-30 min out in the shed so I took a few shots. First heres one that shows all my bud sites across the canopy. Theyre getting much bigger.
IMG_1690.jpg
next Ive got a couple shots showing how the individual plants look. I removed one of the pvc pieces so you could see the whole plant. They really are short and stalky. The bud sites are evewhere man. When theyre finished I feel like they will only be about a foot tall but a solid ball of dank. Im getting more optomistic now as far as yield goes. They are gonna be about 90% bud at the end it looks like.

alright so Ive never told everyone here on riu what really went down from the beggining of this grow.[Probably cause its embarrasing] Anyway I got the shed put together insulated and lights hung, table and res put in place and then got my clones. I came home and put the clones in their 6" cubes and threw them under the 1000s. This is hard enough going from floros to 1000w hps but on top of that I dropped the lights to about 10" above the plants[big mistake]. Id never had such awsome lights before so I had no idea what I was doing. On top of this I was trying to set my timers to water for me and had them flooding the tray once a day. If youve ever worked with rockwool you know that theres no way that those little clones could possibly take in that much water from the huge 6" cube day after day. Needless to say eventually my little girls ended up hurt from the lights and water logged. After no growth and yellowing leaves I got a clue and also found riu. So I lifted up my lights as high as I could and stopped the auto flooding. It was too late at this point, about a week later my plants werent growing hardly at all and had a black ring around every stem. I searched riu and found out that I had stem rot. I went down to The local hydro shop and they sold me a small amount of eagle 20. I only lost one plant out of 12, not too bad. But they were fucked up fallin over and not growin very good. Ill tell you though the eagle 20 is a life saver cause eventually all the stems knotted up and are holding strong to this day. After all of this I was reading journals here as I regularly do and found out that
i needed to start checking my ppm and not just ph. My buddy grows and he had given me a "foolproof feeding schedule"[yeah bull shit]. He doesnt do anything but mix to the amounts on the schedule and check ph, but hes in an area with good water so it somehow works for him [lucky bastard]. I went out and bought a ppm meter and realized I was running 1850ppm at the flip to flower with injured unhealthy plants. so I backed off to 1100 ppm with ro water and things have been better ever since. So thats the real story behind this first run in my new bad ass grow shed which I love. Everything that comes outa this first grow is nothin but a gift from God as far as Im concerned. They all could have died at this point & Im doin pretty good considering. Ok now I feel like Ive been completely honest with my bros here on riu and hopefully someone can learn from my dumb mistakes. So its all uphill from here, and next round with wonder woman will be sick!

yes they get light 360. you gotta hang the lights a plant level, not above. believe me i am not knocking it. ballast and fixtures(sockets) are all the same. however, bulbs a divided by the manner in which they hang. vertical, horizontal, or any. they have to be hung in the manner they were design, or they will prematurely fail.

wow, lots of traffic, this thread is shaping up nice. loving the update foto's. grow on bro.

So today I modified the veg box cause the seedlings were stretching for the light. I put 4 new cfl's and added y's. Hopefully this does the trick. The seeds all got good roots in the 1" cubes so they all got new 3" ones two days ago, and three of them have tap roots poking thru those now. The clones finally are rooting real good also so I put a few into the 3" cubes so I can later pick out my hindu skunk mother assuming I like the product this round. I also threw a tiny fan in with them for circulation. The last pic is of the intake and exhaust each with 3" axial fan and 4" dryer ducting to keep light inside the box.

how long did you veg them for? looks like you have some height to work with and could veg them longer next round to possibly double your yield.
just an idea and opinion bongsmilie :-)

Believe it or not B I vegged for 6 weeks but had many problems. I can tell for sure there is only room for improvement next time. I will veg less time and probably be twice as big.

funny you say that because the same thing happened to me my first run indoor :wall:
vegged for about 5 or 6 weeks and they ended up about the same height as yours.
I was battling heat stress and bad case of mites
