actually,And that would be Redivider that said that......
i was paraphrasing a Congressional Budget Office Report that states that the Health Care bill would reduce the deficit by 138 Billion USD within 10 years of it passing.
actually,And that would be Redivider that said that......
LOL @ whoever said it would reduce the deficit
AHAHAHAHAHA
starting a 900 billion dollar program is some how going to reduce the deficit
you belong in politics my friend... you would go well with the others
keep drinking the kool aid people.haha I lol'd at that one too.
Please explain the finer points to me instead of citing an article that really says nothing. I'd like to hear how providing MORE people with government funded insurance will help save us money....keep drinking the kool aid people.
here's how it works:
The legislation, affecting virtually every American and more than a year in the making, would extend coverage to an estimated 32 million uninsured, bar insurers from denying coverage on the basis of existing medical conditions and cut federal deficits by an estimated $138 billion over a decade.
Congressional analysts estimate the cost of the two bills combined would be $940 billion over a decade.
For the first time, most Americans would be required to purchase insurance, and they would face penalties if they refused. Billions of dollars would be set aside for subsidies to help families at incomes of up to $88,000 a year afford the cost. The legislation also provides for an expansion of Medicaid that would give government-paid health care to millions of the poor.

because of people like you, who believe the lies, the mis-information, and the bullshit, is that this has been dragged on for so long.
i could sit here, and try and summarize ALL of the health care bill, wasting all my afternoon repeating what I already know, while depriving you of this once in a lifetime opportunity to embrace the calling of the academic process to enlighten your knowledge of this particular subject...Please explain the finer points to me instead of citing an article that really says nothing. or i could tell you HELL NO, do your own research.
the CBO reported this the other day.
google congressional budget office, and work from there.....
this is the most mis-informed statement i have ever read.you still have yet to explain how starting a program thats going to cost us 900 billion, is going to make our national deficit go down
think about this for a second...
spending more money is going to make us owe less money
its really not that hard to understand that Spending money does not = saving money
the lies they will tell you to get this thing passed is just scary
here is your basic math failure
federal deficits by an estimated $138 billion over a decade.
Congressional analysts estimate the cost of the two bills combined would be $940 billion
OH MY GOD it actually INCREASES the deficit by 700 billion, rounding down
jesus christ, how you thought this would save us money is out of this world
Can you point out from where it is that the federal government derives the constitutional authority for this? For the first time, most Americans would be required to purchase insurance, and they would face penalties if they refused.
So you are saying private companies increase their profits by paying for unneeded administration? Now comes the question of why you seem to think you get it.The real 'beaurocracy' lies in what we are doing now. Administrative costs are around 22% or more. Do you have any idea what other countries spend on administrative costs? Go look it up and see for yourself. Some spend as little as 6%.
Now comes the question of why our administrative costs are so much higher...do you think it has anything to do with the for profit manner in which our system is currently working? If you answered yes, you get a happy smiley.
this is the most mis-informed statement i have ever read.
you do not know what they mean when they say it will cost 940 billion. nor do you know what deficit or surplus spending is.
look it up.....
When you have a profit motive, you need to review requests for procedures and claims in order to deny the expensive ones, or search for a pre existing condition to deny the claim/procedure, or request more information to help deny a claim. When they find a reason to deny a claim or procedure, it's time to do more paperwork. So you are saying private companies increase their profits by paying for unneeded administration? Now comes the question of why you seem to think you get it.
roughly 60 percent of your pay goes to the govt. when counting all taxes, fees, fuel etc. somewhere in the neighborhood of 30-35 percent straight off the top.Would that explain why the stimulus is sending $500+ my way in tax refunds?
Anyone who works gets $400 (making work pay)...pretty great stuff
when you can explain how creating a mega company (govt) and putting 30 million more people into a system is gonna save money AND some magic way its gonna IMPROVE the delivery of service, i will believe this bill is the right choice.A stitch in time saves 9.
You want to blow up the deficit? Leave healthcare exactly how it is. Check back in 10 years. Then stick your foot in your mouth.
By that time, premiums will likely double, millions of your fellow citizens will have gone bankrupt and/or lost their homes due to medical debt, and hundreds of thousands will have died from preventable/curable health issues.
It boggles the mind that some can't fathom the difference between spending and investing.
