That is how i worked in the past much bigger buds  also with vegging so long the plant wont as much as double in size but will still grow,
with my current iv sent them into flower now at 4 weeks and hoping they will grow much more during flower as they have got much more to do.
Mr. TTT I was thinking about you tonight because I have 4 of my White Satins in flower now for about 5-6 weeks to make some room in veg. When I put them in flower, they were about 10inches (25 cm) tall. They've BARELY grown! I haven't measured them, but I'd say they've grown 3 inches (8 cm) at the most. I think it's the weirdest thing.

But what's cool is that they still have some nice fat buds. And I wouldn't doubt if my yield ends up being very close to what I normally get with the bigger plants.

I attribute all this to having the HPS dangle directly next to the plants instead of above them and they are about 3-6 inches (10-15 cm) away from the light depending on placement on the shelf. Amazingly there is very little heat burn; just the tips of 2 leaves on 2 plants each. Mandala (the breeder) was right when they said those things can take the heat! :bigjoint:

Pic #5: My boyfriend holding all the bud we got from 2 plants. I had to dork out and separate the two because the phenos of the 2 seeds are so different. I wanted to see which is better: the more hairy bud or the more leafy bud. What do you think the outcome will be?

BTW, the outcome is: They're the same. They look different, but smoke, taste, and stone all the same. Bree (they hairier one) has much better bag appeal though.

Ah, well I think my posts get lost in the ever-updating shuffle.

Thank you kindly! I will be updating tomorrow (hopefully) I was going to try tonight but I ran out of time as usual! I asked my boyfriend to water them for me yesterday morning because they were starting to look limp. I've been busy working two jobs so I didn't get in there until about 20 minutes before the lights went out. When I walked in, I had some very sad, thirsty looking ladies. So I had to balance the pH in the water and water all 18 of them. By the time I was done, I had no time to snap pictures :(

And I'm working again tomorrow, but not for long, so I should have some time to take photos and post them up!

Thanks for subscribing :joint:8)
tell your boyfriend to stop being limp and water them plants!!

Haha. I don't know why he didn't. He was asleep when I went to check on them so I didn't ask. But I'm thinking it might be because he was nervous about balancing the pH. He's never done it before, and I told him the directions were on the box. But he knows how anal I am about caring for my plants, so maybe he was afraid he would mess it up. Not sure, I'll have to ask him tomorrow. Why he didn't tell me he didn't water them is beyond me. I guess he couldv'e just forgotten altogether. :?

Ok, well I forgot to mention that I now have my DIY carbon filter built and hooked up. But it's not really functioning to its fullest. Until I get the high temps under control, I can't close my closet door.

Another update is that I've had to temporarily stop the nutes. With 18 plants going at once and all of them at different stages of growth, it's just too hard to figure out 1/4 gallon worth of nutes for one plant that was in week 8, then 1/2 gallon for plants that were in week 5 and such. Thankfully I've got them all on the same watering schedule now. It was pretty crazy for a while I would water one plant one day, then 4 plants the next day, then 2 plants the next, then 7 plants... etc. and like I said, they're all in different weeks of development. It was nightmarish.

So until I start my 3 plants per month schedule, no more nutes!

On a side notes, two of my White Satins should be ready for harvest within the next 2 weeks. Starting to keep an eye on them now because I've had some ready at 8 weeks and some at 9. Right now they're just a little over 7 weeks. 8)

ETA: another forgotten update is that I've put my White Russian clones in flower to sex them (no room to sex the moms). So far, it's looking like all ladies! All right! ^_^ We will see for sure in a couple days though. I'm a little iffy on one of them.

Ok, well I'm a dumbass. On my last update I thought it was week #9, but I must have mislabeled because it was the *beginnng* of week #9. This week is the end week #9 and how I was labeling my other weeks; by week's end.

Ok, so I'm attaching a bunch of pictures. Let me just update my post by explaining the pictures since I got caught up with details last night.

All of my White Russians are *STILL* vegging. I don't plan on vegging them this long in the future (only 8 weeks). But there's no room in flower, and I probably won't be able to move them into flower for another week or 2.

As I mentioned before, we cloned the Russians and put them in flower about a week ago to sex them. So far it looks like 3 ladies and 1 male. The "male" didn't get put into flower until a few days after because it wasn't strong enough yet. But we're going to let it sit a few more days to tell for sure. I tried to take a pic of what looks like balls, but it was too small to get on camera.

Pic1 - Godiva (White Russian) now 24" tall

Pic2 - Hazel (White Russian) now 22" tall

Pic3 - Iris (White Russian) now 24" tall

Pic4 - Jem (White Russian) now 24" tall

Pic5 - Gretyl (White Russian clone) Godiva's baby. Almost 3 weeks old

Pic6 - Gretyl's hairs

Pic7 - Holly (White Russian clone) Hazel's baby. Almost 3 weeks old

Pic8 - Holly's hairs

Pic9 - Holly's bad leaf. Let's play the guessing game. I know my FFOF soil is too hot for seeds but is it for clones too? If so, do you think that might be what's wrong or something else? I haven't seen spots like that on any plants before.

Pic10 - Isabelle (White Russian clone) Iris's baby. Almost 3 weeks old. This is the one we think is a male.

Pic11 - Jessica (White Russian clone) Jem's baby. Almost 3 weeks old

Pic12 - Jessica's hairs

Pic13 - My White Satin clones. Cloned from Blossom who was cloned from Bree who was cloned from Beth who was cloned from Becky who was cloned from Betsy who was from seed. Wow, what lineage!

Pic14 - Veg room

Next Set are Pix From the Flower Room

Pic15 - Top cola from Ellie (White Satin) 5 weeks into flower

Pic16 - Top cola from Electra (White Satin) 5 weeks into flower

Pic17 - Top cola from Edie (White Satin) 5 weeks into flower

Pic18 - Top cola from Badu (White Satin)5 weeks into flower

Pic19 - Shot of Ellie, Electra, Edie, and Badu 5 weeks into flower. These are the plants I was saying that we put into flower at a very short height just to make room in veg for the russians. I've double checked, they were around 15" when they were put into flower (we usually flower around 22"). And now they're roughly 18". So after 5 weeks of flowering, they've only grown 3" how weird is that?!? Yet, they still have a nice collection of buds which are shown more in the following pix.

Pic20 - Ellie

Pic21 - This is my calendar of what I did when. Just thought I'd show it because I was mentioning the craziness of watering all the plants last night. This is how I keep track because I can't remember anything for the life of me unless it's written down. You can see when I decided to go to all clean water.

Pic22 - A close up of my codes and one of the days of activity. For example: Brenda - NU8 means I gave Brenda nutes that day on week 8 of the feeding schedule.

Pic23 - A shot of flower room (front) and veg (back shelf)

Pic24 - Backlit shot of the 5-week flowering plants. Shows the buds a bit better than pic 19 and 20.

Pic25 - Another backlit shot without the light glare

Looking great coral very nice buds on the satins :weed: and them russians are big n healthy top job!!
Congrats on all the females aswell, perhaps being a female grower is attracting all the female plants! haha

Im getting that aswell with my plants not growing to much more after switching to flower, well not yet anyway, just experimenting with what i can pull off with 4 weeks veg, but by the look of urs i should be cool. Id normally veg for 8 weeks but, i cant wait that long lol.
So it will be a good 10 weeks vegging with the russians then yea? you will have some monsters to fly in the flower room can see them exploding with bud under ur hps :-P
Cant really help you on the clones as i rarely work with them and i havent used FF products, but they look like they will be fine to me. soil could be a little strong for them tho as the roots havent developed yet.

Thanks. No problem on interrupting the journal. Not much to talk about right now anyway.

Yeah, it suxx really bad. I went to the chiropractor yesterday and today and it just keeps getting worse. My neck is so stiff right now that I feel like I have a wooden board screwed into my spine. The only pain relief I'm getting at all is from Ben Gay and weed! :weed:

But seriously, it's so bad I'm contemplating going to the emergency room for muscle relaxers since my chiro can't prescribe and my doctor won't be open until Monday. I can't even lay down. I've been sleeping sitting up the past two nights.
I know this aint about the journal, but I thought you just might wanna know that you can buy muscle relaxant pills at the drug store.

Great job man, keep up the good work. Did you make that ballast for your 250w MH yourself ? If so how did you construct that ?

Thanks, man. Call me superstitious, but that's why I give my plants girls' names! I think it influences female growth. But yea, maybe all my estrogen influences them to become females too. That would be an interesting experiment; to see if the presence of a girl in the house creates more female plants. It's funny, because on my first grow, all 4 seeds I planted were female. My boyfriend (over some time) planted all 10 seeds he got and the ones that actually sprouted ended up all being male. 8( poor guy! Only two of russians will go into flower at 10 weeks. I'm about to do a photoless update on that situation after I reply to you guys. Clones are easy, you should try sometime if you have the space for more plants. They don't sell FF in the UK, right? I think I read that somewhere before.

I know this aint about the journal, but I thought you just might wanna know that you can buy muscle relaxant pills at the drug store.
How do you buy muscle relaxers at the drug store? Just from the pharmacist? Gah! I wish I knew this before. Thankfully, I haven't had any problems with my back and neck since then. It was a delayed injury from a car accident I was in last June that I was never treated for. But thankfully, my chiropractor got me all fixed up!

Great job man, keep up the good work. Did you make that ballast for your 250w MH yourself ? If so how did you construct that ?
Thanks! I didn't make it myself. My boyfriend is an electrician. He said you need a ballast, capacitor and light socket and just wire it together. If you mean that grey stick looking thing, that's just a PVC pipe to hold the light steady to the chain so it's a little more stable when I lower and lift the light. I can probably get more details if you need/want. He's in the middle of doing some chores right now, so he just kinda spatted off that list to me! Haha

Last night, I noticed my two White Satins that are growing diagonally were starting to die. I think they were too far from the light, and since they were partially under the shelving, parts of them were constantly in the shade.

Since those 2 were about 7 and a half weeks into flower, I decided to pull them. It's a bit early, but close enough. And I'd rather pull them early than have them die completely.

The bonus is that since I pulled the two, I now have room in flower for some of my WR! So as of last night (after vegging for 9 weeks), I put Blossom (white satin), Bjork (white satin), Godiva (white russian), and Iris (white russian) in for blooming.

I know what you're thinking, it if was too crowded in there for 2 plants, how does putting 4 plants in there help with the space? Good question.

There were actually 3 plants in there; two that I cut down last night and 1 that I cut down last week. Those plants were huge in height compared to these. Because of their height, I have to put my short plants on shelves against the wall. My veg room is to the right of flower, and since those plants were so tall, I had to put them on the lower shelves in order to get myself into the closet to visit the veg room. Since the new bloomers are not as tall, I'm able to reach past them a lot easier.

Plus, since Isabelle (the clone of Iris) seems to be indicating that she is in fact a he so far, I'm kinda counting on Iris being male, which means we can just pull that one and be left with 3 of the 4 in flower. I wanted to put Iris in because Isabelle is so small, and I just can't tell if what looks like balls really are or if they're just new growth (I had the same scenario with Emily who ended up being a beautiful female and and the mom plant to all the E-named babies I have now; I originally thought she was a male but the pollen sacks ended up just being new growth).

Anyhow, if Iris is female, we'll just keep her in there. I have 4 other plants in flower that will be ready to take out in about 1 month or less.

Which reminds me! With these 4 plants going into flower now, this starts my 3-plant-per-month cycle. So I will be starting nutes again with these 4 new bloomers. :bigjoint:

Well, well, well. Patience is a virtue and I'm so glad that I waited to pull Iris. If you read back a bit, I thought Iris was looking like a male, but SHE is not! Isabelle (the clone of Iris) started showing some hairs a couple days ago so we put her back in veg. Iris went into flower 3 days ago and she has got lots of little preflowers forming. Since Iris is so much bigger than Isabelle, I can now see that what I thought looked like balls are just very robust calyxes. This is now the second time that what I thought was a male ended up actually being a female.

In Pix 3 and 7, you might notice that the light is a bit further from the plants than before. I took the top shelf off of the stack to bring the 2 different heights of the plants to more of the same level. The light is too far, but tomorrow I'll be moving it so that it's no further than 7" from the any of the plants.

Pic 1 - Isabelle's hairs
Pic 2 - How empty veg is right now (so different from the past few weeks)
Pic 3 - Flower in the foreground, veg in the background
Pic 4 - Having a bit of a problem with one of the white satins. Never seen it before, and I'm not good at comparing pix and being able to tell what's wrong. Any ideas?
Pic 5 - New seed: Elephant. Contemplating a different grow journal for that strain. But I'm already pressed for time to keep up with this one. So I'll think about it. Either way, I'm sure it will be included in this journal, at least minimally.
Pic 6 - Iris's hairs! Definitely female! So, 4 out of 4 WR seeds ended up being female. I think I have the Midas Touch of the marijuana world. 8)
Pic 7 - Everything in flower at the moment: Top 4 are all white satin. Bottom 4 are 2 white satins (left) and 2 white russians (right)

So, what do you guys think? Have any input on anything? Much appreciated!:bigjoint:

Yay! Fditty subscribed to my journal! I feel like I have a celebrity in my midst now 8)

ETA: Thanks for the compliment. Edie was named after Edie Brickell. Most of my plants are named after celebrities, family, and friends. But I've had so many B-named plants now that I have to keep hitting up the baby name websites for new ideas. But, Badu for example, the name I found on a baby name website, but chose the name because of Eryka Badu. Badu is the one with the major leaf problems right now. I'm about to go take some better pix of her and post it up in the Marijuana Hospital forum because her health is declining rapidly and she still has at least 2-3 more weeks to flower. 8( Poor gal.

Tonight, I transplanted Gretyl, Holly, Isabelle, and Jessica. Which means the girls are now under the 250w MH instead of the floros. Need to adjust the height of the light tomorrow, but I don't know how well it will work because I still have 2 of the big WR in veg (Hazel and Jem).

Today, I went to the hydro store just to get soil. When I got there I was eying the HPS hoods (like I normally do). I asked him how much and what came with it, how to hook it up to my exhaust, etc. I really wanted to buy it, but I was afraid I was too short on cash, so I told him to wait a minute while I checked my bank account to crunch some numbers. When I logged in, I saw my balance and my jaw hit the floor. My fucking TAX RETURN went through that morning! 8D

I told him I'd buy 2 bags of soil instead of one, the hood and the exhaust fans that he recommended I pair with the hood. Oh man, I was in Heaven! And to make it better, as he was helping me to my car with everything, I realized I forgot to get perlite -- I always forget the perlite and have to go back the next day, but I was lucky enough to remember this time. He said he thought he was out but he would check in back. So we went in, shelf was empty, he checked in back and found ONE last bag! ***AND*** he gave it to me for free because I'm "such a good customer".

Man, today was the luckiest day I've had in.... ummm... at least 6 years. I don't remember ever being so consistently lucky so many times in one day. But it's been at least 4 years since I was as happy as I was today 8)

Just thought I'd share that. Hopefully I will have time to take some pix of the new setup tomorrow after I'm done putting it all together. But I have a tight schedule tomorrow night, so I may have to do it another time... but maybe I'll get lucky and have some time tomorrow. 8)
