Are you kidding me? The public option and government control of healthcare was soundly thrashed and yet he still comes back wanting to appoint his own panel to decide what insurance rates can be? That is even more government control than the public option. Then add tax tax tax, and forcing people to buy insurance or pay large fines.

Dead on arrival. Incredible arrogance to even suggest such things and it totally puts the lie to the notion that democrats have any intention of being bipartisan.

Name anything the government ever got "involved" in that became less expensive. Your ignorance comment accurately reflects how dems really feel, and it is exactly why they are losing their asses on this.

One need only look at Medicare to see the folly of government intervention.

There are ways to improve health care, but govt. involvement is NOT one of them.

It is a way to grow the federal govt. exponentially however. That is the goal.

The fact that you now endorse a growing burden upon the ppl of the United sates shows you don't have a clue RED. Not a clue.

The ppl don't want it. The polls reflect as much ... as they have ALWAYS shown.

The disintegration of the Obama administration over this issue is also PROOF enough ... but not to the sheeple....sheeple like you.

you are so afraid of government control, yet you ignore to the strangle hold corporate america has on the government. The government doesn't control anything in this country, the people decide what the government does. that's the way it works.

all we want if for more people to have access to affordable health care. like every other developed nation on earth.

you're gonna argue, "europe's economy is fucked up.", it might be. but at least they can go to the hospital if they have a tummy ache and it's not gonna run them 1,000 euros. unlike us. our economy is fucked up, and that means the hospital is out of the question, because it's too damn expensive for everybody.

some robitusin better cure that swine flu or else you're fucked.

i'm not for something like what they have in england, that's too socialized, though effective. i want something that will guarantee EVERYBODY in this country that if they go to the hospital, it's gonna be ok. not "i'm in the hospital, i better put my car on craigslist and hope it sells quick"....

that's what we have now. and if you think it's ok, then you'll have the right to keep your current coverage. I, and pleeenty of my peers, think this system is fucked up, and want it changed. NOW.

I wonder if Thurs will be canceled. it's looming like a trainwreck. For the past year republicans have been ignored. "Fuck you, we have our 60 votes." Republicans have been left out of the entire process and no republican proposals were ever included. But now it's no longer, "we don't give a shit if you agree or disagree, we don't need you." Now it's "we need you so agree or we'll call you the party of no."

From what I hear I think thurs may mark the emergence of the party of hell no! Stand back and let him self destruct.

Jesus Christ people! It is as simple as this: Single payer health insurance (like EVERY OTHER industrialized nation has) will be cheaper for everyone and will include everyone. How? Because no one in government is allowed to have a MULTI-MILLION DOLLAR SALARY.

Cut out the middle man $ and have a U.S. agency pay the doctors directly, and I promise you will pay less in taxes then you currently pay to the disgusting, evil, unscrupulous, murderous Insurance companies; who may turn you down and let you die if you need something expensive. The lie is that you need them to get good healthcare. Folks: the Doctor gives you good healthcare, not the fucking insurance company.

Private Insurance companies giver outrageous salaries to their people for routinely turning their OWN customers down for health care. They have recently received their largest ever yearly profits...and then requested a 50-80% price increase for their services. The American people are being raped and murdered by these sociopaths and the majority of America must be tuned into the "SOCIALISM NIGHTMARE" channel to not realize the scam.

Even if the answer is NOT single payer, medicare for all, the government should definitely be involved with ending these murderous policies of the health insurers.

40,000 Americans die EVERY FUCKING YEAR from preventable heath problems. And 700,000 people file for bankruptcy because of health care related expenses. Don't you give a damn about your fellow Americans? I guess not. And you call yourselves fucking patriots? Get real.

I wish to be able to say American has the best heath care system in the world. We may have the best Doctors, but we happen to have the worst of all heath care policies of the industrialized nations; rated by Expense and citizen Life Span.

The government MUST get involved somehow. Life is more valuable then profits.

He means it is subsidized. .44 doesn't include what taxpayers are covering for each stamp. Sure Obama wants you to believe that everyone can have more healthcare and the quality won't go down and it will cost less for everyone. He's not fooling anyone with that bullshit. No, ( I don't care ) because the federal constitution doesn't say anything regarding healthcare, which means that it's left up to the states.
And yes I am a patriot because I defend the constitution above any "imposed morality" or any other excuse to circumvent it.

You want to do good things, do it with your own time and money.

I just had to watch my fiance, who has a 'pre existing condition', try to get health insurance. $205 a month. Was denied by many many companies first. My own experiences have been nothing short of shitty either...3 week waits to see a doctor when I had a 'decent' plan through my employer. At least the DMV only takes 30 minutes to see me.


To anyone who has an hour to spare, I encourage you to watch 'Sick Around the World', a documentary by PBS about how 5 other wealthy nations do universal health care while paying way less than we do.
