What is Commercial?

Just a general question for fun:

At what point would you consider a crop/garden "commercial?" I know the right answer is when you produce too much to consume yourself, so you sell it...but how many plants would you consider "too big" for a normal home grower?

There are a lot of variables involved here:

-How big will you grow the plants?

-How long will you veg them for?

-How much do they yield per sq. meter?

-How often do you harvest?

****How much do you smoke?*****

That last question is the most important. Because (keep in mind, I have no legal background or experience) it seems that the more you can prove that you smoke, the more weed you would need to grow for it to be "commercial."

For instance, lets assume you get 1 oz. (dried, ready to smoke) per plant. Now, if you (and maybe your roommate) smoke an ounce a week cuz you're potheads, then you can grow more plants. But if you only go through an ounce in 3-4 weeks, then it'll be harder to justify growing 10 plants than if you were smoking an once a week.

I hope that makes sense, cuz it does in my head, lol.

Makes perfect sense. the thing is... in my county your are allowed 6 immature and 6 mature plants. There is no legal recourse such as "I smoke more than that." So, legally, he answer is simple: 13 plants is commercial, 12 is technically not. I was just wondering based on average stats for indoor growth. (3.5 feet tall with 2 ounces a plant). What makes you instantly think...this guy is out to make money; rather than this is aa home op for personal use or maby a roomate.

I'd go more on how many hps you have, someone might grow himself a few plants, then stop growing for a bit, to not have the risk so often but a commercial grower will always have lots of hid

seems like a lot of pot plants to me...if i had 10 females i'd probably be selling some or most of what i'd grow but again i'm not a huge smoker, but that's just because i never have money and i just started growing too lol. But most of the people that i do know that grow it sell it just cause it's a tax free way of making money...the people that i know that do grow it and sell it all abuse government programs. But again that's just the people i know and hell it might just be specific to this area or areas similar to mine.

I hate to get off topic...but I can't help but wonder how many drug dealers are on welfare or what not. There are people around here that just refuse to get a job cuz their lazy and eventually they get approved for depression or something that is hard to distinguish as true/false even with investigation. Some people seem to always be in between jobs, too. I often suspect them of dealing...though rarely anything but bud.
