Rapid Rooter - 2 weeks? +rep for answer

I just found out that soil is going to take 4 or 5 weeks for rooting clones (got bad info) and I'm thinking of getting Rapid Rooter.

I found it near my Dr.s office, but I'm pressed for time since I have to leave in 20 minutes for an appointment with the Dr.

Can someone whose's used it confirm or deny the 2 week rooting time?

Yes Rapid Rooter can do this and in some cases sooner. For the most part It Takes about 2 to 3 weeks. I went with root tone. Same effect but cheaper. Home Depot sells root tone

Are you talking about Rapid Rooter Soil Plugs?

Sorry to ask that stupid question but I cant remember the name of the soil plugs that I used but I got them at my local grow shop with a plastic thing to put the plugs in. Last time I cloned I could see roots poking through about an inch of soil almost all the way around the soil plug. That was at 2 weeks... at 3 and a half weeks when I transplanted them into pots I had to cut back the roots because they were 6-7 inches long.

I went out and bought the Rapid Rooter but it didn't really come with much in the way of directions, so here are a few more questions. +rep for help

1 - It doesn't say if I should pH the water that I use to soak the cubes in or the 1/4" of water I have that I'm to keep in the bottom of the tray. Can anyone tell me where this pH should be set at for this cloner

2 - Am I supposed to use rooting hormones and/or add anything to the water?

3 - The only soil I have right now is Fox Farm Ocean Forrest. When I'm ready to transplant the rooted clones into soil (when the roots start peeking out), is this soil going to be too strong for the young plant?

You should just cut your clones, shave off a few nodes, apply rooting hormone gel directly to the shaved areas and the cut end and stick them in soil then put your clones under a dome after misting them leave the lights on 24/7 and mist them every day. Within a couple weeks you should see roots earliest I saw was about a week.

Ps I use clear little medicine cups you know the kind people make jello shooters in so I can see roots as soon as possible then. Once they get a nice little root base and start growing out a bit I transplant.

A week, in dirt? I gotta call BS here dude. I built a home made cloning station that keeps my girls at mid 70s temp and 99% humidity 24/7. And I added a big red tub that keeps them at 80 degrees and 80% humidity and after 2 weeks not one stinking root. And yes I scraped and used cloning hormone and had anywhere from 1 to 3 nodes underground.

I was then told by many others that the person who gave me the bad info that you're giving out was wrong. Dirt takes 4 or 5 weeks generally speaking. So unless you got some magic dirt I don't see roots happening within one or even two weeks.

This Rapid Rooter deal is supposed to root in 1 to 2 weeks, and I've gotten confirmation including pics that it works.

Nothing for nothing dude, but giving out bad info isn't cool. You should really only give info if you're 100% sure about the advice you're giving.

And the light doesn't hurt your roots? Let me guess you have magic roots too, right? lol

After those 2 pieces of advice you don't have to worry about giving me any more, I wont be using any of it.

This method works for me about 80% it is not bullshit I dont monitor temps or humidity either, the only strain I have been able to clone in under a week is purple passion all the other ones have been about two. You shouldent accuse me of giving false information when I have been using this method for over a year now and its been working great for me and tons of other people.

I have not had a problem with the clear cups they only stay in there till I can see roots and then I transplant once the plant is strong. Dont be a dick and say my information is useless just cause you couldent properly clone using the easiest method out there, it works, its simple you wasted money on the rapid rooter.

You ask for help but your gonna be an asshole?? I've never in my life had a clone take 4-5 weeks to root. I've never personally rooted in a cup of dirt either I use Rockwool. I'm assuming the guy you decided to reprimand for trying to help only waits until he see's that roots are forming, which generally doesn't take much over 10 days depending on how far the roots have to travel before emerging, Alot of people wait til the roots are 6+ inches long others plant as soon as a little white tip is showing, I do it that way. My theory is if I can see that the clone is living well and is forming roots it rooted and ready to be transplanted, its going to continue to root through your entire grow as well, however the moment you see growth you can only assume its going to be fine.

those rapid rooters are easy. you cut you shit and dip it in whatever you use to root then put them in plugs. mix up some vitamin b1 in your water ( i just give the water a yellow tint) water ther plugs as you fill the tray. after you do this spray clones and hood with same b1 water apply hood and keep them warm. continue to keep the inside of the hood moist and you only have to spray clones directly untill they come out of shock. i get roots in 10days or less everytime with this method and it works well with rockwool too.

I'm just learning to clone right now too so i'll only answer what i know as i'm still learning.

question 1) no clue

question 2) definately use rooting hormone and i haven't read or seen of anyone using water additives.

question3) I have grown plants from seed in ocean forest soil so i don't see why a clone wouldn't take as long as you're not adding nutritents in.

everything i've seen says around two weeks if using rooting hormone of some sort medium like rockwool or peat pucks.

i know i didnt give you much info but i hope it was somehow helpful. good luck

hey man i have used the rapid rooter several times and with different additives. i recomend making sure your ph is right in the money spot 6 or so than if you are going to add anything make sure it isnt at full potency since your working with clones i added some root accelorator and had nice healthy roots in about 8 to 9 days. and on the 2 weeks in dirt it is possible the clones stem would just have to be incredibaly skinny i have done it and the plant grew and i harvested it so it is possible.

10 days to get clones rooted...rockwool cube. then straight to 50/50 FFOF and Lightwarrior

as the saying goes:

Keep It Simple STUPID.
